anyone use one of those sub $100 power/pressure washers?

Let me tell you something if you think you can wiz at over 1400 psi you must have one helluva bladder and a ceramic nozzle to boot!

I've got a 1,300 PSI cheapo and it works fine. Takes a little more work than a big boy, but it cleans siding, sidewalks, decks, etc. just fine. Might try to remove some flaking paint from the garage in a few weeks. Mine was $49 at Bed Bath and Beyond on clearance.

The secret to a good pressure washer is not the pressure per se, it is the volume of water it throws per minute and the cheap ones just don't have the volume so they take FOREVER to do things. They will work if you are patient but I am one who believes in good tools so no cheapie for me.

I have a Karcher 2200psi pressure washer. Today I just recieve the karcher K-12 surface cleaner, works pretty good, wish I would have bought it long time ago.

Do you wish you had bought the K-12 cleaner a long time ago or the Karcher 2200 washer?

How much did you pay for the washer?

I got a $99 one from Home Depot, and it'll rip the siding off my house if I'm not careful (which leads me to a painful story that I'd prefer not talk about).

Anyway, they work pretty well. If it doesn't work, take it back.

Oh, mine is an 1800PSI

I have one that I paid $50 for at Meijer. It works fine well. A little slow at times depending on the job, but it's not going to dent the aluminum siding on my house like the gas powered ones.

I have a 1300psi electric. It's more than adequate for my needs. I'm not out there having to use it every day, or even every week for that matter. Only a few times a year to clear my sidewalk which isn't more than a few hundred square feet total. Wash the side of the house, which I use a rotating brush anyways and it has plenty of power for that. No complaints.

Which brand/model is that?

I'd go to Home Depot instead of Walmart for anything tool-wise.. I used to work at Home Depot. I was told that Home Depot does a LOT more sales for tools than Walmart.. So, it buys a LOT more tools than Walmart. Thus, it can sell at lower prices than Walmart.

Also, generally Home Depot carries much higher-quality stuff than Walmart. And, HD has a better return policy.

I need a pressure washer bad. My gutters that run along the soffit are molded and dirty. So I need something that will reach up there. Also wondering if I can use one to remove the dark brown stain from my deck, and how much power would be needed? My deck: 1 2.

Can't seem to post links to products at homedepot.com. Check out Model 165327 and 165328. Those are the cheapest gas units. Are they powerful enough?

I know Lowes marks down their lawn mowers in the fall. Do they & HD do this for pressure washers?

i think there are solvents/cleaners for decks...I also think I have seen that they solvent/cleaner can be sprayed through some pressure washers.

Yep, the gallons per minute is the difference. Don't be cheap, buy a Hot Shot! 😛

Karcher... blast that thing... i remember testing it on the concrete. it cleaned it. then the rest looked off. so my mom said "do the rest while you're at it." that was several years back... worked for us. heh.

Here's what you need for some serious pressure washing....we sold 3 identical units like this at our auction on Friday. Hotsy Trailer For $4000 you get trailer, 300 gallon tank, Honda V-Twin 20 Horsepower 4.5 GPM, 3500 PSI, 220 Degree (Farenheit) monster of pressure washing love.....

what about how much pressure you would need to take paint off of wood siding? (not all of it, just the stuff that a scraper would do.)

good quest.
