I purchased the wall out above because I've never heard of U-Socket and the Lead Eletrician at my work recommended Leviton. He also said Cooper Wiring (http://www.amazon.com/Cooper-Wiring-...b+wall+charger) is also good.

The thing I've been watching out for on any USB charger is the Amps the charger puts out. I don't remember which website I read the information on, I think it was XDA, but most chargers only put out 500-800mA. If you're lucky to find a charger that can do 1A/5v and you have a phone that made in the last 5 years, the phone/mobile device should automatically sense what Amperage is being put out and charge at that rate. Things that charge at 1A, charge faster than at 500mA.

The Leviton and Cooper Wiring outlets were the only ones that labeled the out of the USB ports. The reason that's important is because iPad's, and most tablets, requite 1.5A to charge properly. Both Leviton and Cooper support 1.5A output.

Thanks for the feedback. I did see those today but I did not want to sacrafice the 2nd outlet. I plan to put the outlet behind the nightstands so that our phones/iPads can charge there

Edit: these are the specs on the ones they are selling at OWC

DC power specs: 5.2 volt, 2000mA** (10W) Duplex USB charging receptacle with integrated on/off safety switch for USB power

looks like 2 phones wouldn't be a problem, but charging tablets would be.

edit - I lied. Looks like you can charge an iPad/Tablet, but charging your phone would be much slower. I think the Leviton is the same way, so shouldn't be any different. I don't own any tablets so I can't help you there, sorry.,

2 tablets at a time or just a single tablet?

Thats for coming out of a computer, not a wall charger.
Some high powered devices wont charge through your computer, either.

I was disappointed to see that no one made fun of you for this post, so I'd like to take the opportunity to make fun of you for this post.

USB power is 5V. End of story. It doesn't matter whether you're using a computer, a high-powered wall wart, a low-powered wall wart, or the USB/Power outlets we're talking about, the voltage will be...wait for it....5 volts!

The reason why some high powered devices won't charge through your computer is because the computer won't supply enough CURRENT, not because the voltage is different.

Technically a lot of newer devices break the USB spec on maximum charging current, but meh.

Dont really see the point. You still need the cord, and AC/USB adapters are cheaper, portable, and more useful.

The point is it free's up plugs, I have 10 things running to my current outlet (with a power strip attached) and have absolutely no free plugs, so nothing else can be plugged in at the moment. Seeing how I have 2 USB AC adapters plugged in, one of these would free up 2 outlets and give me some breathing room.
