I'm using the Thermaltake Big Water system to cool my CPU. It does a decent job cooling my CPU, but I recently came into possession of a Koolance water cooling system for cheap.

I dont really wanna waste the Big Water system, so I was thinking of having the Koolance cooling my CPU and northbridge and having the Big Water cool the XTX sicne this Accelero X2 does really do that great of a job.

At the same time I dont wanna waste a good chunk of cash on a full water block for this XTX and not have it perform better than the X2.

Anyone have any insight to this?

I thought about using the Koolance to cool the CPU, NB and XTX, but I'm pretty sure that's pushing it.

Maybe you can get a piece of plexiglass or something and make a sort of mount for the bigwater cpu block to fit on the 1900 xtx. It wouldn't be too difficult. Also, don't get the Thermaltake waterblock. Its mounting is a POS. I was doing the same thing on my card, and the temps hit 117 c. Luckily it didn't damage anything.

Well, if I were to do this, I'd want a full water block that covered the GPU and RAM. Koolance and Swiftech make good ones i hear.

I just wanna make sure the big water is up to the challenge?

So you've tried using th Big water to cool your GPU?

Dangerden makes some decent GPU blocks that cover teh GPU and RAM, but they aren't cheap. Also, a GPU block that covers the GPU and RAM is only useful on the specific card it was made for.

Thank you. Dangerden was the company I was thinking of.

I'm still really interested in this prospect. Any other comments?

IF you've got the case room for 2 kits... why not? unless I'm missing something heh.

I'm just wondering if the Thermaltake Big Water would keep the XTX cool enough. I want it to perform better than the Accelero X2. I dont wanna go through the money and time of setting up the big water to cool the XTX and find that it cools worse than the X2.

Any reason why you want to use a full waterblock rather than a smaller block and ramsinks? The reason I ask is that the full waterblocks are generally considered inefficient and don't perform as well as a Maze4 and copper ramsinks for example. The blocks are fairly restrictive and require a decent pump to make them work well. A Maze4 and ramsinks will set you back ~$60.

Good lookin out ElFear. I've never watercooled a GPU before so I just assumed a full waterblock that cooled the RAM as well as the GPU would be better than Ramsinks.

The Big Water has a pretty weak pump. Will the maze4 block be restricted or were u referring to the full waterblocks?

Also, you might want to look at one of Swiftech's kits, they include the CPU, GPU, and for some models, the chipset block. Plus the pump, rad, tubes, etc. They are a bit more pricier than the Tt systems, but the quality is a good bit better. Odds are you could save some money by buying the parts seperately yourself.

I recently did a good deal of research into putting a LCS into my next system, but, in the end, it was too much money and too much work for me.

well the thing is, I alrady have the TT Big Water and a Koolance water cooling systems. I have a CPU block and NB block, but just need the GPU block.
