I am not sure if you have looked at Kentucky lately but it is anything but liberal. Don't let the number of registered Democrats confuse you either as many of them still fall well to the right side of the spectrum.

If McConnell is beaten odds are it will be by a more conservative candidate.

Thats good news then since it will be very difficult for judd to win

I rate candidates on a scale from "ok", "meh", "I'd rather not", "there has to be a better option", to "not a chance in hell".

McConnell and Judd are on the low end of "there has to be a better option". As of now I'd rate Rand Paul as "OK", too bad I can't elect Paul twice and let him cast both Kentucky votes. I really don't want Judd or McConnell. Washington is so partisan, I may just go with a 3rd party candidate. I wish the rest of the country were as disgusted with both parties as I am. /sigh

I really don't know what she brings to the table other than name recognition and a tight booty. Her celebrity might carry her quite a way but sooner or later she's going to have to go toe to toe in a debate and I'm not sure she carries enough clout to stand up to McConnell.

She doesn't and she is way too stupid to be a senator

She pretty much fills the "liberal Hollywood elitist" stereotype to a "T", and that just doesn't play very well in this part of the country. You can be a liberal and still get elected, but you can't come across as one of those know it all hollywood celebrities. She does, so I see her winning as a long shot. Stranger things have happened though.

I think it's a good thing for the Democrats and she's got a couple paths to winning. She probably could raise most of the money needed on her own so not a lot of resources on the Democratic side need to be devoted to the race. It probably wouldn't be a competitive race without her anyway. Plus, it puts even more pressure on McConnell not to get primaried out. I think the odds are in McConnell's favor, but her running now forces the Republicans to run a mistake-free race. It's an easy Republican hold without her.

She can pull a nip slip and hr approval rating would skyrocket... voters are not too bright. Somehow Al Franken got elected to congress.

I was just looking at her bio and came across this quote: "It's unconscionable to breed, with the number of children who are starving to death in impoverished countries" LOLz.. I imagine this was said over a vente double mocha soymilk frappaccino at Starbucks

I do agree with your analysis. The opening I see is if McConnell comes on too strong, beating up on the hometown girl, losing a huge share of the woman vote. Add to that a lot of times personality can trump political positions (see Clinton, Bill).

Not getting much support from her family;

http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/07/j...wood-liberal-ashley-not-as-smart-as-she-acts/

The Hatfields and McCoys ain’t got nothin’ on The Judds. The celebrity family’s famous feuds are threatening to hamper Ashley Judd’s political career in Kentucky even before it starts.
“She [Ashley] is not as smart as she acts,” her mother Naomi Judd volunteered to Piers Morgan in January.
Ashley is just another “Hollywood liberal,” complained her grandmother to The Associated Press in December 2012, adding she would vote for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell before her own kin.
I think she is a beautiful woman but a brainwashed atypical Hollywood liberal trying to earn kudos from her fellow Hollywood liberal celeb peers.

Besides a body and name recognition she brings nothing to the table.

Irony time. Those supporting exclusion of gun ownership because of mental illness should be screaming against her. If she's bipolar and therefore can't be trusted with a gun she certainly can't be trusted with the office she may run for.

Be interested to see scrambling to explain otherwise.

That's the best the libs can come up with, a loon with documented mental issues? Pretty much par for the course, she'll fit right in with the rest of the elitists with mental issues. :D

Doesn't mcconnell have a low approval rating?

Yes he does, and that is why they started hitting her hard with negative ads before she even made the decision to run. I think McConnel and his campaigners better not underestimate this little lady.

I think when the right stops selecting people like GWB and Sarah Palin, THEN they can opine to others about brainwashing and people having shit for brains.

Her getting active and trying to do something indicates she's probably smarter than the family members who support the status quo. She's been watching. Sounds like her mom hasn't been.

Not that family input matters. GWB had both his wife and his mother say unflattering things regarding his intellect (or lack thereof) and R voters still happily checked the box next to that idiots name.

Agreed. The GOP is in too precarious of a position to take anything for granted.

When you suck as bad as Toad, it's not just liberals that want you gone.
