i seriously don't understand what's so bad about winamp3. AIM on the other hand, has been getting more bloated and annoying.

It was a buggy bloated pile of crap.
On one of my friends machines it associated every single file type on the PC with itself, instant windows crash and had to be reformated.

The light version of winamp5 is nice.. much like 2.x except better sound output, plugin support, and security fixes.

I use Winamp 5.08. I like the interface much better, plus it is larger than Winamp 2.x. Also, it has no problem with my 3400 songs.

My HTPC uses Winamp 2.95 because it is less bloated and I dont care about interface.

Winamp 2.91 here.

Still use it - have no reason to 'upgrade'.

I've grown on the interface, and I don't need any extra 'buttons' or such - just confuses me. Even with different skins, I know exactly where everything is.

I still haven't had the problems with the 1000+ files, but that might be a feature of 2.91.

My favorite part, the part that Really has kept me from upgrading, is the minimalistic resources that it uses. Plain and simple. I like to keep it running in the background while my AXP 2100+ runs whatever game I want, so I can't afford to have Media Player or iTunes running.

I think Nik pays people to post in wrong and barely-wrong forums just so he can be the section nazi and get his postcount up

And I use version 5

I still use it mostly because of the ease of search (J) and with 5.whatever you can enqueue files from there too... basically that feature rocks.

i still use it with my classic pioneer skin.
i have several ipods in the house but the only thing itunes is used for is transfering files to the ipods. It is just too dman big to ALWAYS have my my dsktop. If my computer is on and windows running, winamp is righ there at the top of my screen.

Anyone still use Sonique? I keep switching between that, KJofol and NAD.

Sonique has such an awesome interface, but I can't beat the audio quality that NAD gives me 🙂

But really, I use Winamp 5 because Milkdrop (Jamie's Tweaked Version) rocks with dual monitors.
