Freakonomics was a good book. I really enjoy that train of thought. The way everything trickles down. It surely does. I'd love to write more about it but I often get confused in my own thoughts.

I read all the time.

Never stop, once I finish a book I start another.

I really enjoyed Stephen Kings The Stand recently (yes I know it's old)

I have a lot of books I want to read but need to get around to ones that are a higher priority.

I'm usually reading four or so books at once. Currently:
"Age & Guile" by P.J. O'Rourke
"On The Wealth of Nations" also by O'Rourke
"Sit Down & Shut Up" by Brad Warner
"Getting Things Done" by David Allen
"God Delusion" by Dawkins - even though I just about gave up on finishing this one because it's just a poorly written book. He manages to say the same thing over and over and over again.

Sadly, I don't read quite as much as I used to...I pick up the usual Star Wars book for a quick read, but I just picked up Chabon's new book along with Wolfram's "A New Kind of Science"...the last one's a big mofo :p

She wrote well IMO (I read this stuff in my relative youth), although I couldn't agree with her general philosophy. She possibly wrote essentially the same story over and over, so if you read one or two, you could get a decent sampling. I vaguely remember enjoying "We the Living" especially, although my memory could be off. Probably goes well with Shostakovich.

I think the last book I read was 1984. The next will either be "The Origin of Species" or a book about special and general relativity.

I just finished Illium, by Dan Simmons (author of the Hyperion novels). Picture the Illiad on Mars, with extinct post humans, eloi, sentient robots in Jovian space, and Greek gods that use nanotech.

I've also recently read Rainbow's End, by Vernor Vinge, and Spin, by Robert Wilson, both excellent books.

I really couldn't get into it. Read it right after American Gods & found it to be disappointing.

World War Z. Awesome zombie book.

Hell yeah! I read that in one afternoon/evening/night/wee hours of the morning. Greatly entertaining.

Classic! That book was the inspiration of Pitch Black.

Currently working on The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie. Trying to choose between Divine Comedy. Canteburry Tales or Paradise Lost afterwards

Go with Chaucer afterwards.

Right on. That book is bawdy, scandalous, & highly entertaining.

Right now for fiction I'm reading Robert Howard's original Conan stories. They are absolutely brilliant, if you're into fantasy.

For non-fiction, I'm polishing off Dennett's Darwin's Dangerous Idea: Evolution & the Meanings of Life. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone interested in evolution or science in general.

I started the Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian. I just finished book 5, and am still completely absorbed, so that's a good sign. The movie "Master and Commander" is based off these books. If you like the era they're excellent fiction and include some real historical engagements. Pretty neat stuff.

Ayn Rand is ok. I'm not a fan of her politics and unfortunately it's really apparently in her writing. It's one of the reasons I avoided Anthem for the better dystopic novels liek 1984 and BNW. I read fountainhead as well and... it was alright. Felt a little longer than necessary but still enjoyable.
