woah man i saw this movie today for the first time ever. i believe its just a JAP movie and not in america yet, because I saw the R3 dvd.

the movie doesn't have the best story line or anything, but the fighting and flexibility of the main character is amazing! IMO, this movie put Hero and CTHD to shame.

i loved it and strongly recommend it!

Just saw a trailer for it the other day, so it looks like it got picked up for US distribution.

Hero and CTHD were largely driven by thier storylines (haven't seen all of Hero yet),
so by your description I don't think this movie could put them to shame.

I may check it out though.

It just got a thumb's-down review here, and it's actually Thai. The reviewer said the martial arts were good but the story was weak and you didn't end up caring about the main character.

the main character used to be a kickboxing champion, and yeah the moves are way crazy.

storyline blew hard though...village gets artifact stolen, guy goes to city to find it, discovers crime ring, beats crime ring, returns artifact. the end.

A) its Thai (did you even watch the damn thing?).

B) Jap isn't really accepted anymore.

C) Really cool movie.

One of those has to go.

With the subtitles in that film, even if you read 'em they make no sense, so it doesn't matter.

Yup it's Thai.

The lead was a stunt man turned main actor.

I enjoyed it enough. When I go watching these films I don't expect a lot from the story.

it's...thai...and that movie kicked so much ass. or knee'ed so much ass =p
i take martial arts, so after watching it, i practiced my elbow and knee so much, haha.

Great movie. Sure the story is nothing special but the focus is on the action. Tony Jaa is simply amazing! His athletic ability is on par with that of Jackie Chan (if not better). I can't wait to see more of his work.

I went to it yesterday after not hearing a single thing about it.

Man was I blown away. Yeah, the story sucked.

But the action was simply amazing. I could watch the fight scenes over and over again.

Everyone needs to go see this.

This movie is not showing in my city. From what I hear, all the action sequences in the movie are real, no wire fu/CGI whatsoever.
