I saw it first thing in the morning (sometimes it's nice being unemployed
)
I thought it was excellent. As with the X-Men movie it wasn't just fight scenes throughout the whole movie. They actually took some time to develop the characters which was nice. I thought Tobey Maguire did a pretty good job as peter/spiderman. Since others have mentioned it I guess he didn't really crack jokes as much as spiderman did in the comics. That didn't really bother me though. Willem Dafoe was excellent. I've always liked his work.
It was cool to see Bruce Cambell make a cameo....go Ash!!! By the way...was that Macho Man Randy Savage in the ring? I don't follow wrestling, but he kinda looked and sounded familiar.
If they keep the same cast and director they could go on forever with sequels which would be alright by me. I'll tell you one thing though, if they ever make a movie with Venom I'm probably going to A) Wet myself and B) Take a day off work to see the very first showing. Venom was my absolute favorite character so mark my words when I say that I WILL see that movie if/when it's created.
