Apple could try to make that claim if iBooks had a bigger selection than, say, the Kindle, or if most people used iBooks...but that's not the case.
They can make more of a case for it with the iPod and iTunes commercials because they dominte those markets. They can make a more legitimate assumption that your music library is in fact iPod/iTunes linked. They can't make a claim like that with iBooks.
Not really, because the first statement isn't qualified either. Best for what? Especially regarding the BMW one - there are a lot of factors that could make one think a car is "ultimate", and those factors change from person to person - and by NOT qualifying exactly what they're talking about, the statement does in fact become subjective.
I understand the problem now:
You have no idea what you are talking about. Is English your second language?

We're still going on with this stupid thread? It's an advertisement, get over it.
Ahh, good point. So you made one effort to actually debate (after posting over and over again without actually responding), and then you quickly gave up, and resorted to insults.
Bravo, fanboy, you really proved your point well by not making it at all.
You seem sad that you won and argument on the internet (by using your superior lack of knowledge of the English language).
Next time I will take the time to crush your arguments completely, but I am just to tired and bored with you right now.
Better luck next time.
Oh, and congratulations!!!
MotionMan
*yawn* Keep up the insults, all the while not actually debating the point.
Everyone here knows very well that if you actually had a response, you'd make it.
The fact that you are trying to say otherwise actually explains your position quite well - you don't understand why Apple can be viewed as dishonest here because you are also a dishonest person.
You mean the way you failed to answer my question?
haha have you now devolved from e-insulting to passively e-threatening? Nice work. You should be careful who you call dishonest.
In any event, it has already been explained to you quite clearly why the Apple ad is no different than any other form of advertising (or marketing). For whatever reason (lack of intelligence, anti-Apple bias, etc.), you cannot quite grasp the concept.
MotionMan
haha have you now devolved from e-insulting to passively e-threatening? Nice work.
Not really. While I'll give you credit for being the first person to actually respond to the rational of true/false statements in advertising vs opinions, you still haven't proven your point. If your defense is "Apple can lie, because I think BMW lies too", well, that's a pretty poor quality defense.
Amusing that you're passively tossing in more insults about my intelligence, too.
I do both equally well. I can backup the e-threats, too.
You believe that Apple lied, but that BMW does not? So it is a universal truth that BMW is the ultimate driving machine?
It was not meant to be passive.
Oh good. I'm terrified, really. Big bad Motion Man is going to get me.
Why are my thoughts on BMW at all relevant to this thread? The thread isn't about whether or not BMW's slogan is misleading or false. Do you hold BMW to some magical standard that if its ok for them to do something, that its ok for everyone? Go start a thread in The Garage if you want to talk about that.
Deflecting from a statement that Apple said something untrue by claiming someone else also did the same does not actually defend Apple's actions. I believe pre schoolers are taught "two wrongs don't make a right".
Wonderful. Well, let me assure you - I do not have a lack of intelligence, and I have a strong command of the English language. I hope you sleep better tonight now that you've had one question answered.
You do not have a problem with BMW lying, but you seem to have a HUGE hard-on regarding Apple's alleged lie. All I am doing is pointing your bias against Apple which clearly is clouding your ability to discuss this subject rationally.
What you seem to be saying is that you do not care if anyone else lies, like BMW, but Apple cannot be allowed to get away with it.
it is a start, at least. Let's see how the rest of the thread goes before we jump to any conclusions.
So, one more time, one question at a time so no one gets confused:
Do you believe that BMW lies in their advertising by calling BMW the ultimate driving machine?
MotionMan
Ahh, yes, All Hail MotionMan, threatener of forum posters, decrier of intelligence! Heed his words, for they are mighty!
