Anyone played The Last Remnant???

tried the demo but i had no f-ing clue as to wtf i was supposed to do or how to actually work combat properly.

just got it today, actually just finished playing it a few minutes ago. graphics are pretty nice (just using a 8800GTX) may look better with a better video card, but doubt it since it just looks ok as it is. As for gameplay its pretty much like the past final fantasy for the consoles, but now here is when it gets somewhat annoying. While for the most part the keyboard used for this game is pretty easy, there are yet some button controls that I wish was listed in the manual but are not which in turn gives me somewhat a hard time figuring out what button to press since the buttons on the screen represent an xbox 360 control pad.

Hope someone, who has this game for the pc, can help on the keyboard control matter, one of which is what button on the keyboard do I press to represent the "y" button??

graphics 8/10
gameplay 7/10 until someone can help out in this department
replay value ?/10 dunno until i finish the game. so far I love it! =P

there is some option that change the xbox stuff to keyboard.. the problem is finding it... and change it because is in xbox lol....

Gah, I really, really wish they would knock this crap off.

I'd like to think of myself as a well seasoned RPG player, and I too was bamboozled by The Last Remnant demo. Had high hopes for it being a Final Fantasy nut and wanting to support Square Enix and all. I just hope FF XIII isn't as confusing.

Is this one of those games that you cant take 3 steps without ending up in a random battle with foes you never even saw onscreen b4 the battle screen?

I absolutely hate it when im just trying to walk from point A to point B to talk to someone and it takes forever to move a few yards in game due to random battles with foes that apparently spawn out of nowhere.

No, the battles are like Final Fantasy 12's system of gaining agro (kinda like WoW really). Enemies are visible on the screen at all times. However, when the enemy touches your avatar, it blurs into a battlefield with your guys and the enemies (your party can contain 20 guys in the demo). Sounds neat, but in practice it's really confusing.

Runs well, but kinda boring :|

what u mean with boring?

The game is.. boring, battle system is meh at best, storyline so far is pretty much nothing spectacular.

I agree. Much inferior to older games like FFIV. I am having a hard time continuing the game because I don't give a shit about the characters and the story. I am about 2 hours in.

oh by the way the problem i think is something in the shadow codding or something... i put the shadows to low... and it runs fine now... but if i push to the shadows up and everythign else down.. it runs like crap...

strange.. becasue even in low the shadows looks awesome.. sounds like this is a shadows hogg.. like crysis with their environments and such.. here is shadows lol.. or maybe is the "Microsoft PowerPoint Syndrome"

Haha you PC gamers got suckered into buying this abomination of a game!

Go do a search for the name in the console section. You'll find nothing but rants and not a nice thing to say about this game. Should have aborted that shit.

The more new RPGs I play, the more I feel we hit the pinnacle of rRPGs in the Final Fantasy 4,5,6, and 7 years.

You mean that new games are getting crappier and crappier... I know, sometimes I get that feeling too... but instead of be in the RPG, is all around...

I played about 20 minutes into this game and it confused the hell out of me. Especially the first battle with like 20 units.....

I can safely say I probably wont ever play this game again.

Performance was decent though at 1680x1050 medium settings on my rig.

You're very, very, very CPU bound, mate.

I never had a hiccup when I was playing. Ran smooth as butter at the settings I used.

I loved this game. Just beat it last week and spent about 2 months making sure I did every side quest. Still have to beat Demigod though 🙁

The critical reviews were almost universal in citing frame rate issues as reasons for the low scores. Gamespot re-review for the pc version gave it an 8.0 compared to a 6.5 for xbox.

I own it for 360. It has WAY more problems than just framerate issues.

I own it for the 360, too. It's flawed, but I think it's a reasonably good game in spite of it. I am chuckling at a bunch of supposedly "smarter" PC gamers tripping all over the combat system, though.
