Galactic Starfighter isn't appealing at all to me...

It's basically a BG where you can move in all 3 dimensions instead of on a 2d plane.

But since movement is with a mouse...and you can just unleash a torrent of shots...there isn't any of the finesse like there was with the old xwing games.

I really enjoyed the game when I started, but the end-game was a bore. It was a lot of fun to collaboratively level-up with a friend, because you got to see multiple class story threads along the way. That was a blast.

I started again last year when the Hutt expansion came out, but only played for about 60 days. Enough to get through the content and some other stuff, before losing interest again.

Overall, it was a pretty fun game. I am not a big MMO fan, but this was a little different IMHO. All said, I still would rather have enjoyed a new single-player KOTOR more though...

Yup, and now we'll never get it until SWTOR dies.

That's not going to happen any time soon though, TOR is getting 2 micro expansions this year (though I figure one will get pushed to 15).

I wouldn't be totally surprised though if EA has BW make a new RPG in a different EA for Disney's new EU.

Seeing as the first one was pushed back to august, I could see the 2nd one falling into 2015, although they have not talked about it much yet.

I almost got my friends to pick it up again earlier this year and I would have been really happy to play more, huttball with ventrilo is probably one of the most fun experiences I've ever had in a game and I genuinely enjoyed a lot of the raiding - the 'puzzle' boss/robot in Karagga's and 'minesweeper' in Explosive Conflict really stand out as fun and fresh.

But they decided that the free to play option wasn't good enough, so their solution was...

Go pay for WoW again lol. Boggles my mind.

I did play it a while back, when it was not free to play.
Well... it's kinda not free to play now too, you need to get a subscription in order to remove the limit of battlegrounds you can do per day etc.

Indeed the pvp is great and fun and the hutball it's awesome :)
