Ahahahahaha! That's absolutely great! How easy! I set it to October 5, but yeah, good times.

Well not necessarily. But it's good that they finally confirmed a release date, unless it's some nonesense like the "Power of 3" from nVidia.

ATi should come up with sth like "Power of 90" for 90nm chip. That would sound like it's 30 times better than nVidia.

2 more weeks is too long...with all these bloody rumors...but I guess that gives them time to tweak against the new 80.XX drivers from nVidia.

If their numerous posts denying the possibility of the HA benches is true they need the time to build cards. Supposedly as of last week no OEMs even had a R520.

no need . . . ATI has had AGES to tweak drivers for r520 as they waited for the third tape-out. ;)

they will be very mature drivers

No! Not the planet eating Doomsday machine! I thought Matt Decker destroyed it when he flew the Constellation inside it and detonated the warp core!

It must have had some failsafe circuitry unaffected by the antimatter implosion, we're screwed! It was headed toward Earth!

Aiiiiiieeeeee!

No doubt, since the first tape out was last November the R520 should have drivers about as mature as the R300!

Anyone know?

That's how many days their executives have left as free men before the trials begin.

;)

No how many days until Nvidia releases "optomized" drivers. ;)

Will the ATI CEO and VPs be able to download them in prison Ronnn? Maybe if they trade some smokes to a trustee for Internet time in the prison library? :)

I would guess no. I did not hear that Martha Stewart was doing HL2 in prison, so I would guess they would only have dial-up.

Ouch. The ATI execs will be stuck with lower framerates on their 7800GTXs then- that must be why they call it "hard time"?

Or is it because of the situation in the showers?

;)

Six R520 threads on the front page and the OP needs to ask what the countdown is at ATi's website? :p

Looks like they are counting down their stock price ;)

I don't care for this countdown anymore than the "power of 3" countdown.

Just get your s*** together and release something

How bout liightening up? It's a video card they're making you wait for, not a cure for cancer.

We're all just tired of waiting for ATI. It's almost a year since SLI launched, no multi GPU from ATI yet. It's almost been a year since they told us the R520 taped out, and still no card. :(

ATI is all about paper launches this year.
