Anyone know what this countdown on ATI.com is?

That's what I was guessing...The time and date it's counting down to is 9:00 AM EST, Wednesday, October 5, 2005...That seems like a weird day...Do you think it's just counting down to a paper launch?

Hmmm...didn't Nvidia do something like this recently?

Why is it a weird day? That's the day they chose to announce the R520 cards. Whether it's strictly a paper launch or not remains to be seen.

So what are they getting at with the d over t =V? Do they somehow mean Design & Tecnology= Victory?

Well, you can put it as distance/time=velocity, at least that easy to guess. Now tell me what kind of crazy douchebag came up with "the power of 3"?

Oct. 5th is a day before their next earnings conference call, so maybe they wanted to avoid more questions about when R520 will be available. 😉

October 5th has been the collective accepted date for the launch of the R520 (and perhaps Crossfire, too), so that's most likely what it's going to be.
