Anyone know anything about HGH?

I've heard that Sly took some to help him get back in shape. The other day on the radio there was a program about hormone therapies and they mentioned that HGH in controlled levels can be healthy.

What's your take on the matter?

If I had access to HGH, it would be in my system. Not in the more-is-better way, but in the give-me-some-muscle way.

I think this falls along the same line of creatine. I remember in high school all the football players would just binge on it and it would have adverse effects. But when you take it in moderation it benefits you.

I agree that you shouldn't use steroids, but they ARE talking about in moderation, so these syndromes and disorders would be limited. I say, deal with what you've got. Naturally, I don't produce as much testosterone as I'd like, but I deal with it. I say no excuses. I like going to bed knowing that my morals haven't been compromised. No offense to those who use it, I'm just very "natural" based in my views of exercise.

I don't know enough about it to have a decent take. I feel like if it's something we all have in our bodies anyway and we can supplement it safely, there's no harm in it. I just don't know if those conditions can apply to HGH.

Well apparently your body stops make HGH at a certain point (once you've reached your "full size"). Then we start maintaining that size until we start breaking down during old age. Supposedly, supplementing HGH will make your body act more like it did when you were 20.

The only problem is FHS, Fat Head Syndrome. The baseball player and Sylvester both developed it.

True, acromegaly and gigantism have dollops of GH dumped on them, but it's still not such a great idea to mess with it in any way unless you absolutely have to.

If you've ever seen animal studies that plot hormone concentrations versus time, you'll notice that it's this spikey mess that can easily get thrown off by any number of factors. Having said that, I think it would be hard for any one to truly say that there are any "safe" levels since baseline hormone concentrations are different in everyone and only known after a week(or month) of extensive sample collection and lab work.

After a while, you appreciate just how delicate a biochemical balance we all walk and you try not to take that for granted. However, if you're feeling lucky and/or experimental then who can stop you?
Oh, and FYI, what you probably want is IGF-1. GH is just the middle man.

IGF-1 is hella expensive.
