Anyone here kayak? I started last year in the Western New York area.
Recently finally braved the Niagara River next to Grand Island a few miles south of the Niagara Falls. First time we did it around 6 pm. Other night brother -in-law and myself were bored and ended up on the Niagara river at 2am. Might avoid that area again at night.
Normally at night we travel the Buffalo river, but it got me thinking. What size kayak should I upgrade/change too if I want to explore the great lakes further?
Currently own a 10' kayak for guests and use a 14' myself. Both are sit in style. I have a skirt for mine but only use it in rain or really rough water.
Debating buying a 16' and a wetsuit for fall travel. Any thoughts/input on this?
