Ok, I wasn't expecting Crysis, but this is how the game looks maxed for me:

Is there something wrong with my game?
i did a review of this game back in December '08. It should look more like this in DX10:

Well, I looked around, changed the settings a few times and now it looks better. It's nowhere near what you have on your screenshots, but it's better than it was. Still ugly as sin :p

Well, to be fair, the intro part of the game was also the demo and it is the ugliest part of the game - that along with the bugs turned off a lot of players.

i am hoping they get the DX10 pathway back up and also bring new content - Stonehenge needs to come online soon. i'm not going to bother with a new character until they get everything running smoothly - my mistake the first time (but then i started as a late beta tester)

Hg:L is all pretty drab overall - afterall you have to enter hell and fight the demons and you are living in the "burn" - after the demons conquered earth. The only bright spot is the expansion, Stonehenge where it is still unconquered.

There is very little variety in the interior shots even though they are all randomly generated dungeons - this round room is an exception:

The enemy NPCs have enough variety and the flying enemies are a real irritation to a Blademaster

yeah, it is very, very ugly. not jsut that, but the animations are not only simple, but the pathing is kinda fucked. I'll attack, suddenly slide forward, and strike something that isn't really close to me and kill it on the back swing.

plus, everything is easy right now. I'm on normal difficulty, only bought two decent (for my level) swords off of the marketplace, and most everything I have faced is butter. I currently have 2 (well, now 3--one that I haven't sued since last logging out) attack skills in my skill bar, and a barely use them.

I don't know why I like it, it's basically click, something dies, click again, break stuff, scrap everything you can't equip, run and fetch quests right now. Nothing terribly engaging about story and quests (Again, the engrish is terribad). But there is something that I do like, maybe the modding and scrapping.

I could certainly use more space, but that's where they payments come in...ugh. Even to transfer items to other characters on your account involve payments. ugh...

All of the junk in the on-screen display is really annoying, too. the perpetual "premium shop" button. ugh....

But I don't know, if they could make it prettier, a bit more difficult, this would go a long way in making this game more engaging. I find it fun for an hour or so, then it becomes tedious and I have to log out.

I played a bit more today and I must say that there has to be issues with some of those "super" spawns after you kill the required number of enemies in any given map. There's a counter under the map, if you kill say... 20 out of 20, or 30 out of 30 enemies then a "special" boss type enemy will spawn right where the last kill was done.

Now, the concept itself isn't exactly good to start with (I'd rather have those special bosses already present "somewhere" in the map as the map loads and letting ME find it by myself if I'm lucky, or unlucky, just like in Diablo II)... BUT that's not the real problem. There is some unexplainable issue with those special bosses where their health will suddenly reset at full as soon as it reaches something like 20%. I'm playing on Nightmare, so I don't know if it happens on Normal difficulty, but what I wonder is if it was actually INTENDED by the developers, or if it IS a bug... I really think it's the later, it HAS to be, because I'm playing the game solo for now (as I did with Diablo II most of the time). So guess what I have to do when such a boss resets its health? Yep, I have to run and "ignore" it, but since they chase me all the way and anywhere I go most of the time then I have no choice but to leave that map, go back to the safe zone, wait a bit, then if I really have to go back to that same map due to a quest then I cross my fingers for that boss to run back where it first spawned. It really is flawed, if it's not a bug however then the developers REALLY need to revise that part.

I mean, sure, in similar games I DO run from powerful mobs and bosses if they're too dangerous, but that's because I cannot beat them, not because their health freakin' resets when they're almost dead (and it doesn't reset just ONE time, it ALWAYS resets, they are technically invincible when it happens, but fortunately it does not always happen, still... it happens too often). Additionally, there is currently a known "latency decay" issue apparently which makes sense now that I think about it. The issue in question provokes a decay in the connection in general, not just when the game itself runs, but the entire connection (related to packets or something along those lines, I'm not good with that stuff, not in my vocabulary). So the longer you play, the worse your connection gets and the higher the latency becomes, ending in a total server crash (for yourself, that is, after a few hours in the same play session). To "fix" the issue you have to actually reset/turn off your modem (supposedly, which I confirm because that's what I had to do indeed), wait a bit (like, five minutes or so), turn it back on (of course all the while your game is closed, obviously), then open a browser to see if the connection is alright (that part isn't necessary but of course opening a browser and checking if you can actually browse the web is a good indicator if your connection's quality is back at full strength), and if that's the case then you can finally play the game again... but... not for too long, or else the issue is a "rinse and repeat" process for now.

I knew that I wouldn't play it on a regular basis, and thanks to those strange issues here and there I have held my word about that one. It's a BETA, as well... so issues are bound to happen. I'll deal with those anyway, not that I "have" to play the game, I just wanted to give it a try at first, and now that it's done I can put it aside for the moment and resume my game-in-progress in The Witcher and stick a bit more with Champions Online instead. But I do hope that they'll fix most of the obvious problems with Hellgate, it has potential (especially if they can bring back DX10).

Sounds like it's ability is rejuvenation(in Hellgate:London there is a list of the monster abilities under it's health bar) or whatever it's called, you didn't see it much at all in Hellgate:London(the only one I can remember is the unique in the rift where you find Fawkes, early in the game.) stun or toxic effects are the best way to kill them but phasing it could also work if you can inflect enough damage on it.

There was some sort of odd monster characteristic in game whereby once you did a certain amount of damage to a boss monster with this characteristic then it would regen to full health but shrink in size. This would happen several times before the monster would die entirely.

VERY awkward with a Summoner Boss who can resurrect other Summoners and summons.

Anyone else have trouble activating their T3Fun account?

I assume having one is required to play Hellgate on line. I provide a correct email address and yet never receive the message to activate the account (and it's not in my junk folder either). Any suggestions? The support tab on the T3Fun website is useless. USELESS!
