boko academia is pretty good so far. Me on episode 2. Better than One Punch man for me atm.

So, I checked out a couple more series...

Amanchu! - I wasn't really sure if I'd care for this one at first, but let me say one thing you'll notice off the bat (especially if you've been watching some other anime), this series looks great. Of course, that's heavily juxtaposed by the series use of a simpler, silly animation style at times to reflect the childish nature of the characters, but the art is definitely nice. I also tend to prefer quirky characters, which this show has pretty much all summed up in its main character. I didn't expect to like this one, but I think I'll keep watching it.

DAYS - This is a soccer anime that takes the build-up-the-hero approach rather than having a great main character from the start -- sort of like the tennis anime, Baby Steps. What gets me to watch this series is that the main character is one of those really good people, and because of that, you really want to watch their journey and see them succeed. It helps that the first episode starts showing the main character playing soccer for the team, and then you switch to the beginning. I'll definitely be watching more of this one.

Kono Bijutsu bu ni wa Mondai ga Aru! - This show seems okay so far, but I think it could be far better when they introduce more characters. At this point, the show has 3 characters and mostly just focues on 2 of them. The show follows the members of an art club at a high school, and it focuses heavily on the main, straight-laced female that has a crush on the waifu-drawing male member that "has no interest in 3D women". There's also a president, but he doesn't have that much of a part. As for this one, I'll probably give it an episode or two to see if it can branch out enough.

Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars - I don't know how I feel about this show since it seems like the first episode was one of those "show a bunch of stuff, but tell nothing" episodes. That can be unfortunate, because I don't think the episode really had enough of a hook to make me want to find out what happens next. Based upon the main character's appearance, this seems to be a show designed for lolicons. I may give it an episode or two to see if it improves.

Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan - This is a show comprised of multiple episodic mini-episodes. It chronicles the life and misadventures of Kusuo, a teenager with some rather impressive psychic powers. The show has some good humor overall, and the main character seems fun enough to watch it a bit more. This is a show that I compare a bit to KonoMondai as I'd like to see more characters.

@Aikouka

Despite some weak episodes recently, I thought that Episode 15 of Re:Zero was pretty entertaining.

I checked out two more last night...

Mob Psycho 100 - This one probably had the most hype out of any series given it's based off a story by ONE - the guy that created One-Punch Man. I'll be rather blunt... I hate the art style of this show. The show itself is okay so far, but the first episode just doesn't do a good job at getting you invested in anything. The first episode focuses more on the fraud of a psychic who is acting as Mob's mentor, but the second episode looks like it will focus more on Mob. So, I'll give it a chance.

New Game! - This is pretty much a show for lolicons just like Regalia, but it's a bit more light-hearted. I think the show is more fun to watch, but the humor isn't as good as I'd like. I guess I was expecting it to be more of a Servant x Service 2.0. I think I'll keep watching it to see if the humor improves a bit, but if I want a new slice-of-life show, I'd probably just stick to Amaama to Inazuma.

I do think that it got better, but my biggest complaint is that it has a wildly variable tone. The show seems to switch a lot from a rather dark tone with some lightness sprinkled in (the first five episodes) to a rather light tone with a bit of darkness (the mansion arc). Now, the show seems to be par the course for typical anime storylines in that it's just getting weird... mostly with the introduction of that Betelguese character. Although, the show would've gotten a laugh out of me if he said "It's showtime!" after Subaru said his name three times. :p

You guys go way over my head with most of the anime talk in this thread, but I watched Grave of the Fireflies somewhat recently and I had to fight back the tears. Very devastating but beautiful movie.

I am surprised you have not seen it before.
I'm not an Anime movie person. I rarely watch anime movies because most of them suck and have mega plot holes. However some are really good like Bakemono no Kom, Evagelion, Wolf Children, K-On!, Perfect Blue and ofc Graves of the Fireflies, and some others that I can't recall top of my head. You probs wonder what my fav movie is, I have to say Wolf Children. Everything was perfect in a movie imo. Have you seen it?

Eureka Seven never resonated with me. Too bad too because most people sing its praises. Anime like Sword Art Online that grip me from the very first episode seem very rare.

I haven't kept up with new anime releases in years. I think I now have a good backlog with this thead, haha. Just finished Bleach and still catching up on Naruto Shippuden - both Bleach and the original Naruto I started watching a year after they started airing - after taking a long, long break from both because of filler episodes.

Me never seen bleach but I've heard that the filler and cannon ratio is 1:1 lol. Is that bad?
Shippuden is nearly over now I say another 7 eps max. The war arc finished last week so yeah you are all set to watch all the shippudens without fillers :)
You should watch dragon ball super if you have not. If you do skip 1-27 and start on ep 28. You probs already know but chrono and goku are brothers lol

K-on is best anime u should watch it hehe
Warning - really girly anime so don't cry if you turn into a softie hehe
