Guilty Crown and Strongest Disciple Kenichi are good as well. I prefer the manga on Kenichi.

Freezing wasn't to bad either but the manga is far superior. - they just try to much on the ecchi/nudity sometimes.

Soul Eater would have been better without all the filler but it had better fillre then D.Gray Man( that show had such terrible fillers it was bad to watch that series could have been a great show).

Currently watching;

2nd Season of A Certain scientific Rail Gun
Monster- for an older anime it really is a good show
Ghost in shell series/movies- seen only first movie
Gurren Lagen
Horizon Season 2
A few more can't remmeber off the top of my head,

Just been busy with work or I want to play games when I get off work so I don't catch up the anime.

I completely agree with everything you wrote. When Kenshin is good, though, it's really good. I also liked the live action movie. The fight scenes (especially Kenshin versus the blonde ninja) were really well done.

The fight scenes were definitely rather fluid, which made them nice to watch. Although, I think it was the differences in the story that really took me out of the movie. The story is this weird mish-mash of the first OVA (Tsuiokuhen/Samurai X) and something around the first 20 episodes of Kenshin that doesn't have near as much poignancy of the original source material.

In the rework it's Shishio who kills Usui instead of Saito.

That's probably because it would have been nearly impossible to fit in all of the fights from the Kyoto Arc into two OVAs. As for that situation, it sort of makes sense because
Shishio is the one that blinded Usui prior to him joining the Juppongatana, and even in the anime, Usui tries to kill Shishio
, but it ends up being a waste of a character.

2nd Season of A Certain scientific Rail Gun

I don't know if you've watched the latest episode, but I wonder where the series is going to go now.

Robotech (ep1-36)

A.k.A Macross

the producer of Robotech wanted to bring Macross over but at the time no Japanese sequels had been made for that series yet and t.v. companies didn't want just 36 episodes.

To solve that problem Carl Macek found 2 other series that had a similar style as Macross and combined the stories to get about 86 episodes.

My major gripe with brotherhood has pretty much nothing to do with plot and story 🙁. Brotherhood was longer, and didn't seem as polished because of it (it doesn't help that they "rush" through the 1st half/third, since it's largely covered by the original). There was a lot of silliness thrown into the more serious story and background. It seemed to lack some consistency in quality, where some of the episodes were great, and others were somewhat fillery (worse animation quality, superfluous feeling episodes, etc). They give away too much too early (probably since they're catering towards manga readers) which diminishes suspense/surprise. So, they do a mediocre job telling a better story (sort of like gunslinger girls season 1 -> 2).
I don't know about that. I thought it was great all the way through, but then again I had read the manga already.

The comic relief is supposed to be there.

already mentioned but definitely the following

Hunter x Hunter (2011)
One Piece

And add me to the crowd that found FMA: Brotherhood much better than the original (which wasn't too bad either)

Not sure if I saw this mentioned but Durarara is decent but does take awhile to get into a plot.

Just started watching Attack on Titan after reading this thread. I've gone through ep 1-14 in just 2 days lol. It's so good. It's almost like a mix between FMA: Brotherhood (medieval setting) and Evangelion (giant monsters)

I did get very annoyed at all the whining/crying by all the characters. It was so obnoxious. Every episode some character is freaking out and crying like there is no hope. And then of course you have that moment where they muster up the courage and believe they can win. Or there might be some big inspirational speech. It's like every episode has that.

Still though, this series is really amazing. Up until Eren becomes a titan himself, I could feel the sense of helplessness and despair of being a tiny human trapped behind these walls, all the while waiting for the inevitable freaky giants to come in and eat you. And of course when Eren gains those powers, you are like, "hell f'n yes, here we go, some legit payback time". So good.
