I agree. If I met her in real life, I'd seriously want to punch her. At times, it seemed like Juno (and the movie) was trying too hard to be hip. I was expecting better. 6/10

saw it today and really loved it

think I might go out and buy the soundtrack.

I think all these movies are spawns of Freaks and Geeks, the best TV show no one ever saw.

Just started re-watching the DVDs with the commentary on this time. One of the best shows ever.

Very good movie IMO. Funny, interesting characters, and a tear jerker.

Re: the Dialogue: Movies are contrivances, if you want "Reality", stand on a street corner and listen to people around you. Sure, there's no Teenager in existence like Juno, but she's just a well developed and interesting character in a good movie. Deal with it. :p

it was ok. my problem with these movies is that the main characters are always adults playing teens with adult wit and adult dialogue...and its obvious.

the problem with a movie that what you're suggesting is that "real" kids and teens are hella annoying and would drive every adult out of the theater if they were the central character.

it was ok, the bad dialog happened near the start with the two girls talking over the phone.. it tones down after that.

I saw it recently and liked it too. I wonder what we should call this new generation of films (Superbad, Knocked Up, Juno, etc) where the kids are "ordinary" (ie socially awkawrd, not conventionally attractive) and speak to each other in very unconvincing dialog. Sure I understand everything they are saying but nobody I know, young or old, speaks that way. It's like they are giving pre-written speeches to each other.

Good question. In a way it reminded me of Gilmore Girls' dialogue with slightly less frenetic pacing. I probably should not be admitting I watched Gilmore Girls, but whatever.

KT

I admit to watching Gilmore Girls too...though it was always with my wife. The dialog on that show was definitely great.

Same goes for Michael Cera really, but I've still enjoyed most of the stuff they've done.
