I have the iaudio X5L , the only negative I can say is that the included earphone sucks.
You might want to check out this forum to get a better idea. I am in the process of making an aux input on my scion tc, so I can listen in my car. If you do get it you might also want to get a case for it, this is much better than the one cowon sells.

u need to put "ipod" in the title so that silly fool Gurck will jump in and start hyperventilating and carrying on about how bad it is, in order to get any responses around here. :)

I have an ipod 40 gig photo, and, while it's fine for most things, it greatly annoys me that I can't manage my mess of songs at work (no admin priveleges to install itunes). I was also tweaked when i painstakenly sorted through a few of my folders only to have itunes "manage" them for me and screw them all up. I think you can turn that feature off..but still.

I 'may' order an x5 30 gig from amazon here in the next few minutes. Or maybe an iriver 320 or 340. I'm drunk enough to either do that or go to bed. One or the other. I'll update later....

The big complaint I have seen is the lack of ID3 Database. It is a bit annoying but once I had my collection all tagged properly, MediaMonkey syncs it correctly in the Artist/album format.

They are supposed to be working on firmware to include a ID3 database. They have been really good about releasing new firmware with fixes and features.

Well my ID3 tags suck, so I'm looking forward to organizing by folder. :)

Anubis, the ipods are fine. Don't get caught up in the superdork "I hate apple" hype. I'm going to ditch mine mainly because I LIKE organizing by folders, and I'm not crazy about going through itunes every time i want to organize my music. Other than that it's a good player. I always point and laf at my neph's clunky junky creative nomad zen...and he can only not in agreement.

cought up in it? ive been right beside gruck in just about every thread on ipod bashing, HOW did you miss that????

and i used to have a Zen Xtra, it was a great player, better SQ and interface then the ipod, better $ ber gig storage ration, didnt have to use itunes. laster near 2 years of daily use, im still pissed i broke it

and all my files are tagged and named and organized into folders by artist then album, so i dont think that would be an issue

uh....because I try to ignore posts that involve ignorant fanboyism and brand bashing. Sorry I missed you.

At any rate, I'll post back about the iaudio once I get it. Just got a new SD200 cam so I might hold off for a little bit on the mp3 player.

As to the Zen....to each there own is what I always say. (no rabid irrational hatred of creative for me. :) ) I found the SQ to be the same, the interface to be worse, the size to be worse, the fact that it didn't charge via usb to be worse, the fact that u needed creatives bloated software to even see the unit to be worse......but yeah it was cheap I'll give it that much. :)

whats the difference between the x5 and x5L?

x5 - 14 hour battery

X5L - 35 Hour battery

that justifies a $30 price difference? For some I guess. Nothing else huh?

Sure, I think it does. That is a pretty big increase in battery life.

Anyway, my friend got his X5, and loves it so far.

its slightly thicker

and yes 20 more hours of bat life are definitly worth it

because 14 becomes 10 when you play high bitrate files so the more bat time the better

i just hope you have all your stuff tagges and named correctly, the X5 currently doesnt support ID3 tags, it wasent an issue for me because all my file names match the tags

and transfering is easy, just drag and drop

What accessories do you have for this player? I love it BTW. I just want to be able to use it at the gym or on a bike ride or even cutting the grass. I need some sort of belt or arm band holder.

I also want to get a car kit for it. Like one of those 15" flexible bar holders so I can access it easily in the car.
