I love Penn Station. I'm suprised nobody has mentioned it yet. It's actually just as expensive as Subway, but everything about their subs are better. Plus they serve fries! To hell with the bags of chips.

But Subway does have some damn good chili.

best sub i've had was at The New Yorker in roanoke, va. its like 4.50 and it is a beast, it has a bunch of meat and cole slaw, peppers, onions, and cheese, served toasted. Too bad they aren't franchised, but if they were most likely the food wouldn't be as good.

well... back in the day while i was in high school, i used to work at a subway as a "sandwich artist" :) even back then, i knew what a rip off their sandwiches were... a measely 6 slices of turkey or roast beef on a whole sub. everything else was veggies. only when i made my own sandwiches would i be able to taste any meat in the sub... anyone else who made it for me, it was like eating a veggie sandwich. so after high school, i never ate there ever again since i knew how cheap they were with the meat. for the past two years... ppl always praise subway sandwiches and how good they are and blah blah blah. i'm just like yeah right whatever. so today.... i'm driving home and i am kinda hungry. i passed the wendy's, mcdonald's, burger king, and pizza parlor already. my last choices were either to grab some canned food to nuke from the quickie mart, or subways. i said "what the hay" and decided to give subway a whirl. who knows... maybe they did change from their skimpy ways. WRONG! so anyway, i am still getting a whooping 6 slices of roast beef, and a ton of veggies... :disgust: am i the only one who feels ripped off while eating food from subway?

no. you are not alone. there are a lot of people on this site that don't know any better. subway sucks. i eat there a lot because its convenient, but i know it sucks. quiznos is better. schlotzky's and jasons deli are best.

Agreed

For the same price of Subway Chicken Breast combo, I usually get BBQ Chicken sandwich, garden salad, and large root beer at Carl's Junior.

They're good, there are much better. My top 3 in my area would be:

1. Quiznos
2. Mancinos
3. Jimmy John's

Quizno's just owns.

It is healthy, and I think its ok, but its not gourmet by any means.

Quiznos is good, so is Potbelly's in Chicago.

Hey, how much more does double meat cost at Subway? You know that the chicken sandwiches have a lot of meat, right?

Once you eat a cousins' sub you'll see how sh!ty subway subs are
Maybe if the bread wasn't so freakin hard.

Tell me exactly how to make a sub as good as theirs for less money, and I will never go back. I'm looking for exact places where I can buy the bread and such.

: ) Amanda

Nothing better than a woman that can eat! :D The meatball is my sub of choice from Subway as well.

I've taken a liking to Quizno's lately as they added that Chicken Carbonara sub. That's pretty damn good. Their brocolli cheese soup is pretty good as well. If they actually fully toasted the subs it would be a lot better.

I'd much rather taste the onions and peppers than the turkey. I love Subway. :) Good turkey, and they load it up with cheese, mustard onions and peppers. Mmmm...

Two thin slices that don't even cover the spread is considered "loading it up?"

:)

Subway is processed trash now.

I can't put my finger on it, but something has changed. The ingredients don't seem as fresh, and they don't really have any flavour. A notable exception to this are the onions, which are some of the strongest i've ever had and leave me with onion breath for hours after eating. :disgust:

In my area:

Blimpie > Quizno's > Jack Spratt > Mr. Sub >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Subway

I don't eat there a heck of a lot. Maybe once a month these days. I've fallen from grace.

I don't mind them but way to much bread which equals carbs which equals sugar which I can't have.
