Working on getting mine right now. Have my gear, but no bike yet, don't have enough money.

Thinking of getting a YZF 600r, an older CBR, GS500, or Ninja 500.

if those bikes are in your price range... id seriously consider getting a 99-01 suzuki sv-650

newer bike, better frames, handles better... and they run around the ame price

a dealer around me has an 01 w/ 4k miles on it now for $3900

Naa, the YZF is a pipe dream and the other bikes, I'll be getting early-mid 90's. Plus, I'm in Cali where everything is more expensive.

ok... im just letting you know then from personal experiance that buying an early to mid 90's sport bike is going to be some $$ to keep running well

fork seals usually need to be replaced because owners dont know about them going bad, and they leak on front brake pads which need to be replaced then... getttin the carbs to run even 80% as good as when the bike was new is a chore... and if the bike sat for any amount of time setiment in the tank can be there

unlike cars... bikes deterioate MUCH faster...

the other nice thing about sv-650's is that because they do nto have the lower fairing (although you can easily modify an gixxer one to work, they do it all the time for track days) - its not listed as a sport bike for insurance - its a sport tourer, which means insurance is 25-50% less then a crotch rocket

ive always luved the way tillers look... but the seats get too warm from how the exhaust runs and ive never been a super big v-twin guy... not to mention they have a ton of routine problems

ashteticly... they look DOPE

I have a 1988 XR250 off road bike...does that count? I used to have a street bike but I just didn't ride it enough, didn't enough it that much, and didn't feel very safe on the roads. I'll stick to the dirt/trails.

I have a Yamaha RoadStar Warrior (pic). I have a way better looking and sounding pipe than that now. I'm heading to the Smoky's/The Dragon (link) next month, it's a must ride! I can't wait

the shop i work at and i are all hoping to go to the myrtle beach bike week next month... should be a blast if we can all go

i've got a '02 gixxer 600 (bought new), Honda 500, Kawasaki 440, and going to be picking up an '04 Honda CRF 50 in the next two weeks.

heh, might wanna adjust your mirrors a bit 😀

Yeah yeah yeah!

I love that little bike.. so light!! I really don't see the need for a huge sport bike after this one. People say.. OH NO! IT CANT GO PAST 110 MPH! Bah. When will I ever want to go 110 mph? Do that and either die or get pulled over.
