I had one....here's my story:
Our local vasectomy specialists name is Dr. Dick Tapper (I'm NOT making this up...here's his office:
LINK). He's supposed to be the best snipper in the tri-state area, so I feel pretty confident going in. The day before my surgery the asked I shave as much hair off the scrotal area as I can (eeck....I get nervous putting a razor around "the boys"). So, I do that, the next day I go to work, leave at 2:00pm, and go to the clinic to have the procedure done. A male nurse leads me into a room where I have to remove all my clothes and put on a stupid hospital gown (the kind where your butt shows. It was OK though...I have a nice butt heheheh). Anyway, the nurse was making my gay-dar go off like crazy (talked with a lisp and a limp wrist, bounced when he walked, etc), so I was VERY uncomfortable at that point. He then has me lie on a table and puts my legs in stirrups (*gulp*), and then grabs something and starts rooting around "down there". I ask what he's doing, and he said that I missed some hair and he needed to remove it before the doctor came in. Dr. Tapper comes in and gets to work. First he takes out a needle that I SWEAR was the size of my arm, grabs my sack, and JAB!!!! AAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! That OFFICIALLY was one of the worst types of pain I have ever felt. It felt better a minute later as the numbing agent set in. The doctor and nurse then began to chatter: "Oh good...a big one! These are so much easier than the small ones. Yeah...he's got lots of room to work with here...." They were talking about my goods like they were a slab of meat or something! I was thinking like "Uhh...excuse me! There's a person that can here you attached to those parts!" Next, there was an incision, which I barely felt at all. It was a small 1/2" cut on the right side. The doctor then grabs a miniature MEAT HOOK and latches on and pulls something that felt like I got kicked in the nads by a steel boot! I tense and moan in pain, and they scramble to get more numbing agent. "Must have missed a spot..." the nurse non-chilantly mentions. (Duh! You think??!!!). So, I feel a bit better, but my insides feel weird and twisted. I then smell smoke, and I asked "What's burning???" "Oh, we're cauterizing your severed Vas Deferens before we tie them." Oooooooookkkaaaaaayyyyyyy. They stitched me up and I was done in about 20 minutes. They gave me some antibiotics and suggested I keep frozen vegetables in the area for the first day to keep the swelling down. Then the worst part: "Oh....and you don't want to have sex for at least two weeks." Yikes!!!! That was probably the toughest part---lots of cold showers for those two weeks

The thing you need to remember after having one is you need to rest for three days afterwards. No walking, mowing the grass, sports, etc. You're going to FEEL like you can do it, but 30 minutes into it, your body well tell you "What the hell are you doing!" and make you sit down. From what I hear, mine went rougher than most do, but it came out fine. And the best part? UNRESTRICTED NOOKIE for the rest of your life!
