Harvard Extension School
Basically it's a continuing ed classes from Harvard. They also have master programs and some courses are even taught by Harvard professors.
The kicker is that there is no admission process so anyone can enroll (just pay up, Harvard loves $$$). You get to network with harvard professors and get a harvard email as well.
See the pay-off is this:
Many many employers just think you went to the 'real' Harvard especially overseas. I guess this is why there are lots of international student at HES. They finish up, put that on the resume and go back to their country and score BIG jobs.
My french roommate did this and went back to France 2 yrs ago. Landed a big job. Another Taiwanese friend of mine with similar story.
Similar can be done in US as well. Not many people heard of the Extension school and employers eat them up once it's on the resume. Even if they know what HES is, do they start to care at that point? You've already landed the interview and well on the way to selling yourself.
Something to share... heard this from GF who went to the 'real' harvard and had to take an extension course once. She said they were all way too snobby, more than the real harvard students. lol.
