I got mine the day it was released. My previous phone was a Motorola v276 which was pretty old and a generally crappy phone.
I don't use it for much other than calls and the occasional text message but I really like the env2 so far. It's smaller than the enV and imo looks better, I couldn't stand to have the enV in my pocket. Call quality and reception are much better than the v276 and better than my gf's vx8300. I also love the speaker phone on it and use it quite a bit for conference calls. The external screen only has a few basic options (text one person, contacts, recent calls, music) but is good enough for 90% of the stuff I want to do with the phone which is answer and make calls. I do wish the picture ids would show up a bit larger on it though. The internal screen is nice and clear and I love having a qwerty kb since it too me forever to text on my old phone. Web browsing is decent enough in a pinch but obviously WAP is crap.
There are a few issues with it. Some people have had problems with it unlocking and calling people in there pocket (it's only happened once to me). BitPim doesn't work with it yet but I've heard the developer are working on it. My biggest complaint is the notepad feature keeps deleting my notes for some reason, hopefully this will be fixed with a firmware update.

Overall I'd recommend it as a smart phone light. I couldn't justify buying a fancy phone (i'd never use half the features) but the generic clamshell phones didn't interest me either.
