damnit why didn't they just wait to announce this until the stock hit 12?!?!? ARGHHHH

I'm a total stock n00b - why would them announcing 1st quarter revenue to be far below expectations cause their stock to rise? Isn't their announcement a bad thing?

they are cutting costs and wall st interpreted that as "we are going to focus on short term earnings"

More or less. Sometimes people can be pretty dang myopic.
