I have digital in my apt. I get good signal everywhere before and after. The interesting thing is that we pay for digital cable but you still get the analog signal in all the ports. We only have one tv with the box to decode the digital part. The only complaint I have is that the higher numbered channels sound volume rapidly falls off. I have to turn the tv volume to the maximum up near channel 150 or 200. If the analog channels remain analog, they still come through the box on the digital cable tv.

We have had Time Warner digital cable for about a year and a half now and we love it. At first a few stations, often TechTv, would turn blocky and lose the sound. It was horrible but the last year or so has been perfect. We used to have the regular HBO and the digital cable HBO and there was a huge difererence in the picture quality, it was no contest. Then they removed the old HBO and made it ESPN2 or something because I think they made the entire list digital instead of keeping the basic channels analog. Normal stations do seem to look better and we do have an HDTV but I don't know if it matters or not.

I'd go with direct TV, but it's not really an option since I would lose all my local stations, and where I live rabbit ears are not an option due to bad/no reception. And two, my internet bill would be jacked up another $10 bucks if I canceled my cable :frown:
directv is a little bit cheaper where I live and I can get local channels through the dish. I live in Denver where the only reliable antenna option is an outdoor one...being in an apartment kills that option for me. DirecTV extended basic with local channels is only $39.99. Digital cable here runs at about $45-50
