My X used to use Nuvaring. Worked great for the time we were together. Patches and Pills scare me. Nuvaring is probably the most effective form of birth control there is right now.

I'm curious to know - how is it you think Nuvaring works?

I have heard of it before, and personally have not tried it, but since my annual dr appt is coming up, i might bring it up since i am somewhat frightened about the patch thing (eventhough i have been using it for close to four years with no problems *knock on wood*)

I just would be worried, like someone said, if it falls out. I know once something is stuck up there, it *should* stay in place, but to me, there is too much of a risk of it coming out.

I will ask my dr about the best methods, but i think it really is different for each woman.

You shouldn't be on birth control for more than 5 years. You have to take a break from it. Otherwise you could sterilize yourself by making your hormonal system dependent on synthetic hormones.

Unless you can stick a fist up your vagina, the ring isn't going to pop out. It is a large ring that you squeeze narrow to put it in, then it springs back to shape to hold itself in. I would think that there is more risk having a patch fall off.
