Hey all,
Ive been looking around for a nice designer wallet, and the only ones ive found are from gucci and outside of my price range.

I know there are some people here who think its rediculous to spend that much on a wallet...Please dont post in this thread...

I am looking for just a nice billfold wallet. Doesnt need to be anything real fancy, but I want it to be able to have at least one ID holder.

Thanks in advance for the help guys!

I've got a nice black coach wallet, think my wife paid around $120 for it on sale. It's a good investment because it will last forever, had it 5 years and it's still in perfect shape.

Same logic applies to a good watch and a good pair of shoes

Coach makes some sweet wallets, but they're plain and that's not what you're looking for.

$200 wallet? This is an honest question, what makes it better than say a $30 wallet? I have a Kenneth Cole wallet that I paid like $25 for that works great. It holds money, credit cards and everything.

I believe a wallet should not cost more than the amount of money I'm going to carry around in it. I usually have around $30 on me, so that's my limit.

trmiv,

At least with the hartmann wallet I linked it is the leather that makes it expensive and the build quality. Very choice and will last for decades of wear. Ever had a wallet start falling apart on you (stiches, things start to loosen up)? Doesn't happen with a nice one.

wiki info on Belting Leather...
"Belting leather is a full grain leather that was originally used in driving pulley belts and other machinery. It is often found on the surface of briefcases, portfolios, and wallets, and can be identified by its thick, firm feel and smooth finish. Belting leather is the only kind of leather used in luxury products that can retain its shape without the need for a separate frame; it is generally a heavy weight of full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather. Well it doesnt make it better. But I feel like a wallet says a lot about a person, and I plan on using this wallet for years (Decades) to come. Its something I use(Wear) every day, and I feel like a 200 dollar investment on a wallet I will use for the next 5-10 years if fine by me.

It equals out to pennies a day for a nice, classy wallet when you think about it.

My buddy bought a beautiful one from Bally of Switzerland, about $200 for a nice braided leather wallet.

Spend $25 on the wallet. And then use the other $175 to sponsor a starving child. I think that would say a lot more about you as a person.

what a waste, i have my $30 wallet for 5 years. Even a fake LV will last you a couple of years, and looks identical from the real one.

Save your money, $200 wallets are for old rich dudes

Let me put it this way; If you don't own your own home(no mortgage) and drive an expensive car(paid for) spending this kind of jack on a wallet is silly
