I bought it, have had lots of fun with it. Will be tons of fun once I get another Wiimote so I can beat my friends.

I will probably pick this up over the weekend. It sounds fun and looks pretty cool. I like the fact you can bring a 2nd player online with you.

I've played it a bit more, and have mixed feelings about it. It's entertaining, but I don't see myself actually playing myself. Or maybe it's just I don't want to get past getting used to combining everything to actually score, heh. It's far easier to play with a group of people who can actually block for you :)

After about half an hour of playing, I like it

Edit: It's even better playing with someone.

Based on what you guys were saying and the decent reviews it was getting, I went to Walmart last night and bought it. Played one game and realized I needed to spend more time on the tutorials.

Yeah, its a little confusing at first...theres so much going on, and a lot of controls. Its not a simplified casual game by any means. But once you get the hang of it, you wont be able to stop. Its probably my favorite sports game ever.

One thing I don't recall being covered in the tutorials is the lob pass (hold Z and press A). I couldn't figure out how people were doing this all the time until I finally relented and looked in the manual.

I thought it was rather boring. Looking at this thread, I seem to be in the minority.

so I just had my first person disconnect on me when I was kicking his ass. What I don't get is why it doesn't count the game when someone disconnects. It would seem to me that a simple way to stop people from doing it would be to give the person who disconnects an automatic loss.

Yes and no. I've been in a few matches where 8 year olds are swearing their little brains out. But I've also played matches where everyone (even the 8 year olds) contributed something useful when they spoke.

It just depends on your luck I guess.

Woohoo! I beat Petey on the first try! It took me 6 or 7 times through the Striker cup to get to him, but that's besides the point. :)

He took the first game 5-0 but I came back and took the next two games 5-3 and 4-1. I think I only scored once on a regular shot, the rest were super strikes, which seems kind of cheap.

I just started playing it the other night and I'm hooked. I need to work on the mastering the controls though. I can't get past the fire cup yet. I can waste every team but the final team always destroys me. I went from beating them 8-0 in the game before to losing 0-2. I've played online a couple times and lost every time. It kinda reminds me of NBA Jam but with more complicated controls and Mario characters and it's soccer...
