I manually flashed this file. I have never had any touchscreen issues so I can't do any comparison there. I'm now switching to ART and will see if my Android System process uses less battery than it did on 25R or 33O. So far so good though.
 
I had some quirky issues after going from 25R to 30O. (Biggest one being my earpiece just quit working, wouldn't work in any apps or in calls, had to use speakerphone)

I had to do a factory reset after the update and it fixed most of the issues I experienced, including the one above.

I am noticing battery life isn't as good now - hope it improves.

IS ANYONE RUNNING A CUSTOM ROM BESIDES CM11 OR CM11S?

I'm thinking of trying Mahdi.
 
After using the 33R since early this AM, it does seem like an improvement, though it'll be a couple days before I know whether it's just a placebo effect. Standby battery life seems better and touch response improved as well.
 
Well, I've given up on this phone. It's too gentle and annoying.

I hate scratches and I've managed to somehow put a small dot on my screen, but honestly, it seems to be under the screen, and while cleaning the screen I noticed an area where the oleophobic layer is less than the rest. A clear spot, and sure enough, if you pass your finger across it's smoother than the rest of the phone.

Wetting or breathing air on it shows the spot, but it looks flawless when clean. I noticed fingerprints are much more prone in that area too. I would have never noticed unless I tried cleaning what I don't even know is a scratch. It's a shiny silver dot in the glass.

Ah well, it's going to make a nice gift for someone. I don't even care enough to rma it.

meh. I think I've finally realized buying phones isn't right for me anymore.

Is the screen bonded to the digitizer? Sounds like a fixable problem, maybe, if you can find out what exactly the dot is.

But if that's too much trouble, it definitely would make a nice gift for whomever.

It's a silver dot in the glass. I initially thought it was a scratch. The uneven top layer is killing me now that I know it's there. I'm still well into the return period, but I know someone in need of a phone and I've decided to donate it. She is using my old Nexus 4 8GB and has been nonstop complaining about how she doesn't have any space for her videos and photos. 🙂

I am hugely disappointed in the way it sounds in my car over bluetooth also, and that is a MUCH bigger problem for me. I am so happy I didn't sell my 5S in a rush - BT audio is a huge deal to me.

It's a nice phone guys, but it just has that "you get what you pay for" feel to it. I see no reason to get this phone over a Nexus 5, even with the extra space.

To be fair thats your experience and its not a common one. Ive owned both phones and would take the OPO anyday over the Nexus 5

The screen is better
The speaker is better
The camera is much better
The battery life is much better
64GB of storage is better
etc

Adavantages to both.

I received 33R last night.

I never had an iPhone newer than a 4S, but the OPO blows that phone away. The comparison with my Moto X is more difficult as the software features of the X are fantastic. Hardware wise, the OPO trumps all mobile equipment I've ever owned or played with aside from the HTC One M8.

Sorry you had such a bad experience amdhunter, maybe the iPhone 6 will be a better upgrade for you.
 
If I would not have had such an obvious yellow band with the screen I would have liked to keep mine too. I'm kind of bored of my m7 now to be honest.

My friend also kept using my opo and said the yellow at the bottom was always there and very noticeable when reading anything. Too bad as I really wanted a new phone. I guess now I should wait until October. I still never received any invites from one plus to share and it's been quite a while.

Really? From a hardware perspective, I don't find the OPO to be special. I've owned a Note 3 since Oct and honestly there are pros and cons to both. With the S5, M8, G3, etc all having simliar hardware, I'm not sure what would blow anyone away.

I've posted this before - I really like CM and the price is great, but I accept things due to the price I never would on a full price phone:
- touch screen issues - by far the biggest issue to me
- reconnection issues
- yellow tinge at the bottom - doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't accept it on the Note 4

The OPO was always going to be a 1-2 month play phone for me until the Note 4 comes out.
 
i quite like the OPO but a couple of niggles....

Pros:
Screen
Speakers
HD Space
Price and Build Quality

Cons:
Touchscreen sensitivity seems a worse than my old N4 (missed touches)
Customer support is slow or non responsive.

Medium:
Yellow band - mine has gone down to a slight glow on the bottom
Phone size - I knew this going in, but its just too large for one hand use. If the nexus 6 is a 5" screen I might switch.

All in all, I am ok with the phone as I am tired of my nexus 4 but am still thrown off about the touchscreen.. I am not sure if its worth returning as software might improve its calibration. What do you guys think about the touchscreen?
 
I don't seem to notice any consistent issues with my touchscreen.

My update from 25R to 30O didn't go well for some reason. My touchscreen went nuts at random and I completely lost my ear piece volume. It was dead in anything I tried. Also I was getting a lot of hiccups and slowndowns. I haven't really heard many complain about this.

I did a factory reset and it fixed all of this. The update to 33 went fine it seems.

The problem people are having isn't the specs or performance of the ideal OPO, it's the poor QC that makes an issue-free unit way less common than it should be, especially for a phone you can't return just by heading over to Best Buy/the carrier shop.

If *yours* is issue-free, then of course you're happy. But don't pretend you can't see why people would be unhappy to live with imperfections that don't bedevil competitors like the N5.

The N5 had its fair share of issues. (CAMERA) I had one for quite a while. All phones do.

I think all phones have issues.

At least with OPO we will have fairly regular updates to try to resolve things.

End of the day its your decision to buy - I've been very happy with mine and I haven't experienced most things being brought up in this thread. That's been my experience.

Aside from me, I know three people IRL that have a OPO. None of us have yellow bands, none of us have touchscreen issues, and none of us have bad battery life. I've read plenty of horror stories on the internet but without seeing the problems first hand I'm having a hard time feeling that the QC issues are what they seem to be. How lucky are the four of us to have phones with no issues? Is it even luck?

The one issue I do have is with inconsistent volume levels on audio content (podcasts/mp3s), but that's a software issue and is in the process of being fixed.

Well there is also a guy on xda that ordered 4 opo's and the fourth one had the yellow band issue worse than all the other ones. I sent mine back due to that but I didn't seem to have any grounding issues or touch screen problems. I just couldn't put up with the screen being two different colors. At least that was my case. I know people that also have the phone and theirs was barely noticeable.

I'm not denying there aren't issues. I don't think you can argue its a QC issue either. Plenty of phones have issues too (GNex, N4, N5, etc.). I'm saying in light of the issues we've seen so far, the OPO is actually a pretty good phone.

I've reported tons of issues on JIRA and IIRC I was one of the first to even bring up the touchscreen issues back on July 4th. I'm pretty picky with my devices, but seeing as the CM team has jumped on this issue pretty quickly and issued a few quick fixes and is still committed to fixing this issue, I can say that at least I'm assured that the issue is being looked at.

Compare this to say the ARP issue on the Nexus 4 where push notifications stop coming through when the screen is off... Google never fixed the issue and instead just closed the ticket.

Also, do you even have an OPO or are you just commenting on the device based on others' feedback?

Edit: I'd like to add that for now I'm giving the CM team some credit for having issued 2 fixes for the touchscreen issue, but I don't see it as fixed yet. Hopefully if they can address the issue within the next month I'll be a lot happier, but if not, yeah, then its a defect I hold against the OPO.
