i just caught the original on syfy a few days ago. classic. haven't seen it in 26 yrs. the birthing scene used to give me the creeps. i'll def be watching the remake

I have some hope for it, just not too much. After all, this is the same Disney cooperation that remakes EVERYTHING and hasn't come out with an original idea since about the 1960's. (and remakes the remakes of the remakes of the remakes)

colors (Just because I can)

Yeah, I'm 30 and somehow remember the original being on - I saw a part where a green baby was born and it scared the crap out of me...all those years later, I still remember being scared.

i remember it, but back then it was my ex gf's(from college) favorite show. so it is immediately a turn off. (both her and the 80's show)

maybe i'll download it later when i'm done with dragon age.

From the preview I will say this: It has the quality of a made for TV movie.

Take that as you will.

Other kind of retarded things are:
1. Why would a jet fall from the sky, while cars are zooming around just fine.
2. Why was the lady not let past the 'police line' when random people were casually strolling around on either side in the backgroud.

The second one kinda annoyed me. Like they needed to make up a cheap way to inject some kind of authority tension where one didnt exist. I really hope the quality starts to go up for that kind of tripe.

sounds a lot like the original then, got it... 😛

i didnt watch the new one yet, but i might. as cheesy as the original was, i watched the series and the movie events (mini-series)

Didn't even know it was a remake until I found one of the originals on SciFi late the other night...Typical, since it seems like hollywood has lost the ability to come up with unique stuff.

I loved the original. At least that's what my dusty memory tells me. I have no idea if it would withstand the test of time and still be good. Some things from that time are still amazingly good. I rewatched the pilot to Greatest American Hero a few years ago. Still an excellent show.

As for V, I have deliberately not watched any previews. I'll be watching it. I hope they don't screw it up too bad.

Interesting that it is on ABC now when NBC aired the original .

NBC then kept it under tight wraps. Nobody had any idea about the reptile nature of the aliens. I can remember people freaking out when they saw the scene of the guy with the mouse, it was the talk of tv at the time.

mildly - enough to tell the tivo to record it. I've been watching the campy 80's tv series (that came WAY after the excellent mini-series) on the joke that is what used to be the sci-fi channel.

Two cast members from Firefly and one from Lost? This show has potential for much win.

EDIT: More hot chicks showing up. Win inevitable.

I read that they only did 4 episodes but will ramp up production if the ratings are good. Love the original miniseries and even liked The Final Battle so hopefully this one will be good.

..lots of good looking chicks though I will always love Diana from the original even when she munches on a guinea pig. 🙂

A bit of an awkward start, but it's starting to get interesting.

The teenager character seems so ridiculously obligatory, and annoying.

I've heard that the 2nd and 3rd episodes are kinda dull and had to be redone.
