I caught a pufferfish off the Florida coast. I pulled it up and the guy in the boat was like wtf. He took the puffer fish and squeezed it but it didn't let go of all the water inside. He then threw the fish on the ground hard, and it still was a fat ball. Then we tossed it back into the water..

That doesn't prove anything, it just upgrades the lie to a conspiracy.Originally posted by: Kaido

the ones at the store are just like that, green-spotted puffers. they're awesome!
DLeRium, didn't the spines hurt the boat guy when he grabbed the fish?

We bought 2 of them from wallyworld because as you know they look cool as hell BUT we found out they are very aggressive! They attacked our 2 gold fish that were over 4 inches long and these suckers were only an inch. I say get them because they are cool to watch but dont keep them with any other fish or you wont have any left in the take but them later![]()

yeah, that's what I was reading today, which is a bummer because I want a decent array of fishies. you said you got 2 of them...are they okay with each other?
Awesome.Originally posted by: rahul
If you want puffers in a community, get one of the dwarf species (Carinotetraodon), they stay under 2". They are however, somewhat delicate and cannot be kept with boisterous tankmates.
All the larger FW puffers are aggressive, to other fish and to each other. Species tanks are best.
@ Shilala: you are partially right... most of the FW puffers in the trade are brackish water fish. I have however collected some several hundred miles from the nearest ocean![]()
