It's basically a Off Topic. When you create a thread, you have to "invite" people to the thread. Only people who get "invited" can see that the thread even exists, go into and read it, and reply to it. It's kinda cool. Keeps f-tards out of your conversations.
Like m4H and his gang? ;)

So are all the threads gone, never to be seen again? As in, a few of my posts took a lot of thought and time in typing, there is no way of accessing them?

I can easily see why the PT had to be done away with given the circumstances, however I can't help but think their may have been a better way of handling it than cold turkey. I'm sure their was a lot of other valuable, legal stuff lost.

In response to Shrinerburke and others, this will not be the end of ATOT as some seem to think (unless I misunderstand). There was an uprising over the lack of pic capability, then the shortened sigs, then PM limits, then the subsciber features, ect. "This too, shall pass".

What? M4H ROCKS. He's awesome. I don't want to get into specific names, though. A sleeping dog can't bite you. :)

It would have been nice to have some warning but I understand their reasoning behind it.
I agree on both points.

My Low Carb thread was nearing 450 posts... And unlike ATOT, they were all useful. :(

I would have loved to be a part of that helpful legal thread.

AT'ers were given a new featured and it was abused, there's really no reason crying over spilled milk.

The mods are probably already over-taxed as is and adding policing the private topics forum is stretching their resources even more thin.

You can all feel free to use the VERY underused forum system on my webby to keep a fitness thread, if you want. Click link below and then the forum link.

It's a co-hosted server on a 10mb link, it's solid. Try it.

It is a shame everything got deleted and not just the offending threads. Oh well, too late for that now I suppose.

I'm not so sure I would want anything to do with a domain name like that anyway...

The domain name wouldn't drive me away... It's the sheer lack of concern for content accuracy that turns me off from that site.

You registered the domain, but you don't know what that means?

Yeah, I thought about editing the mod quote to something funny, but I don't want to be banned while I still have nearly 300 days of my subscription left ;)

I guess private does not mean private.

Threads should have been deleted on a case by case basis. As long as the content of the thread was not known by a moderator there would be no liability, but then again they are the owners and we are the users so they make the rules and we can either abide by it or post elsewhere.
