Anyone else think Fusetalk is poorly programmed?

Press TAB from "Topic Summary" (which should take you to the message body) takes you to the myriad of text formatting options.

After replying, you are not returned to see your post. (You are returned to the top of the thread)

No graphic representation of smilies - unless you know what the names look like, you are just guessing.

When clicking on a thread listed in "Your Latest Messages" in "My Forums", it takes you to the top of the thread, not to your post, so you can easily see the responses. If it's a long thread, and you've posted 3/4 of the way through, better grab the mouse and start scrolling.

I just think that such a "premier" message board software should have a leg up on the free alternatives, (phpBB, etc..), or lowe cost, very powerful software like vBulletin.

Granted, this software handles a LOT of traffic - but couldn't the others given the same support hardware?

Use firefox if you hate scrolling. "Find as you type" allows you to jump to your post if you just type your user name. F3 goes to the next instance your name appears.

What frightens me is the anxiety expressed by other members due to a simple inquiry. Was anything I noted derogatory or inflammatory in any way?

I'm just wondering, that's all.

Ha! Watch out for the Stazi SuperSix... better lock your doors tonight.

That's nutty. There are tons of bugs and design mistakes with FuseTalk. You'd think they'd want to hear about them so as to make a better product.

It's called "constructive criticism".

Elite at 6000 posts? That's amazing.

Anyways, I agree with some of what you say, but not all of it. Actually not most of it.

I think fusetalk works great and is easy on the eyes. I also love the fact that I can have 100 threads displayed on a main forum page, and 100 messages displayed per page inside a thread.

The only thing that blows is the quote system.

Well, excuse me then.

I was under the impression that posting software issues in OT was plain bitching while posting software issues in the SOFTWARE FORUM was legimitae disscussion.

I remember quite a while ago when I first used Fusetalk, I thought it was the best & I actually wanted to use this software for my own board but a coldfusion server costed too much so I opted for UBB & CGI Server instead. I agree with you somewhat in that it is a bit outdated & I prefer the PHP/MYSQL boards but it's still pretty good.
