Anyone else still have a basic phone plan at <=$40?

it seems like everyone around me has a blackberry or an iphone, which requires a data plan (+$30 to your bill)... am I just old school since I'm still stuck with a basic phone with a $40 phone plan? I don't even pay an extra $5 for text messaging, so when someone texts me, it costs me 20 cents (and I kindly tell my buddies it better be important if they text me).

I'm riding out my $30 Sprint SERO until I am forced off due to lack of hardware availability.

+1

I'm gonna milk SERO for all it's worth. I can do without the newest, fancy phones for awhile longer.

I have the basic plan and recently added 200 text messages for $5/month. It works fine for me. I still have a Motorola RAZR that I got in early 2007. I've messed around with an iphone in the store and I think it's pretty neat, but I personally wouldn't use its features enough to justify the much higher price.

I had a $30 a month plan but dumped it for a pay as you go plan and now spend around $10 a month.

T-mobile Prepaid = ~$8/month, though I also use Skype ($66/year) and Intalk ($260/year) as much as possible at home/work.

Another SERO user here. I'm more likely to drop cell phone service all together then switch from SERO.

Also a prepaid user. Phone supports just about everything (Nokia N95 that my brother gave me as a gift) but data plans are ridiculously priced here and I don't actually need them. I only use WLAN where available. Before I got this as a gift, I had a no frills, no camera, no expandable memory candybar Nokia as well.

Not much of a phone user. With friends, it's usually just text messages confirming where/when to meet. Too lazy to type? 20 second phone call confirming how much longer I plan on keeping everyone waiting.

$44.00/mo plan from Sprnit.

400 anytime minutes, free calls after 7pm. I barely use my phone but I've kept the plan just because any new plan is going to cost me like $70.00 with a new phone. I even had a Sprint rep. call me a few months ago to try and get me to add more features to my plan. I guess they felt I wasn't paying enough for the privelege of using their service.

I pay like $0.20 for each text, but I only text about once a month so it doesn't matter. My two-year subscription ended a long time ago, so I'm just month to month now which is how I like it.

$20 every 2-3 months. It's a Virgin Mobile pay-as-you-go plan. They require at least $20 every 3 months.
