I'm using a mini keyboard. Looks and feels like a laptop board. I like having the mouse closer to center instead of way off on the right. (about 8" closer to the keyboard)

I also have no use for a numpad, and am typing on a mini right now.

Hmm I use 8 forward, 5 back, 4 and 6 for respective directions.

I need the keypad. I also have issues typing on laptops as the keys are a bit smaller and closer together, and they do not feel right (I'm used to my IBM model M). Also they do not click loudly. (Any keyboard that does not click loudly is evil! EVIL I SAY!) Also laptops have the pageup/home/end/pg down and arrows in strange positions. I like them where they are on a regular KB.

well i use one of those mini ones for my 2nd box which runs linux. its pretty craptastic since its el cheapo though.

but its small at least. when im entering numbers in though i use the keypad, so i suppose at work i do use that. however at home i'd just as much rather have a keypad less one since i rarely use the keypad.

the keypad was a lot more useful during the 80s , when people didnt really use mice in the all DOS days. since it was useful for games and such.

i want a dinovo type keyboard, num pad separate. it is annoying that the num pad takes away mousing area... would seem more ergonomic. with num pad either your alphabets are way off center or ur mousep[ad is.

I also don't like the distance, that's why I use this keyboard on both my pcs. Also love the "forward" and "back" buttons next to the arrow keys.

I have been thinking of changing to this one however for the extra buttons, but I hate the rainbow on the top.

I don't think I have ever used the numpad - it sits there on the righthand side of my keyboard like an unwanted growth.

The numpad is so much more efficient for typing numbers. I couldn't work very efficiently without it. One question: What numpad takes up 8"?
