I've been here a lot longer than you have, thats for sure.. I've been on these forums since 98 in the UBB days, but Arstechnica has been the IT-forum of choice for me. no offence to anyone here at AT, this is a decent place, but Ars is much more laid back, no nazi moderation or free-speech-hindering language filters, you can post images (how cool is this thread: Post your win2k/xp desktops) plus there is a lot less n00bie-moron questions cluttering up the forums for the highly technical questions of the rest

I bet you are going over to Ars to be with PeterB and discuss Man Boy Love. Here's hoping that more of th ATOT Pimple Farmers like Valhalla will join his exodus to Ars.

and in response to your childish unprovoked attack - no, I prefer Ars because I can get answers to my technical linux, NT and networking questions in a much quicker and friendlier manner, along with a laid back atmosphere, in-thread image posting, and non-existance of AOL-n00bs.

plus having so many new mainframe and high end unix customers at work has left me 100% less time to goof around on off-topic message boards in the (now extinct) dead time at work

If you really were an Arsian you wouldn't feel the need to create a thread making a pronouncement of you leaving us, you'd just go quietly into the night. Instead you come here announcing that you are leaving then you proceed to hang around. Hey leave already, I can't wait to start missing your presence here (yeah right). For those non-subsribers, go into CUSTOMIZE and change your browsing mode to STANDARD (instead of ENHANCED). It'll drop all the unnecessary graphics that come with this forum... and also the emoticons. You will see the text : r o l l ; instead of

... it's quite funny... and time saving.

as for n2 systems, man I dont know anyone over there, but its weird that you mention that because last night I had to have a ultra160 scsi cable at 6pm and the only place open was N2, it was the 1st time I've gone in there ever!
