I'm just glad I didn't listen to you fools and bought Apple stock despite all the predictions of the failure of the iPad, I've never seen such a concentration of stupid supposedly tech savvy people in my life...

Seriously, how the hell do some of you manage to find your way to a bathroom and use it correctly?

LOL this guy.

Played with a friends iPad 2 a week ago, impressed how much sharper some images/text appears compared to my HP TP (with ICS 4.03). I might have to put some $$$ aside to get one/the new iPad. ;)

LOL this guy.

It's true. I remember the threads about the iPad like it was yesterday and getting shouted down about what a POS it was and how Apple was doomed...

The funniest thing is seeing them fess up to buying an iPad after all the trash talk.

I was the same way, and I remember being pissed seeing an Apple forum started here, thought it was BS. I was wrong.

Maybe it'll take others some time to be become enlightened the same way you did

Guilty as charged. :p I thought the iPad was just big iPod Touch and made fun of my cousin for buying one shortly after the release. He showed it to me, and I messed with it for few minutes. I was so impressed I called every Apple store in the city trying to buy one. All were sold out. A week later, I got lucky and found one in stock and bought it on the spot for my wife. But it's still just big iPod Touch.

You say that like it's a bad thing :) I carry my iPod Touch at work every day, damn thing is slightly bigger than a credit card and I can trade stocks on it.

Nah, I don't really see the point; If I'm going to carry around something as big as a tablet might as well go balls to the wall and just take my notebook.

Love my iPad and I'm blown away by the new display. So nope, I'm impressed by tablets. Give them a full OS and I'm sold.

Having gone from an iPad to a TouchPad running CM9, it's no substitute for the real thing... Planning on getting an iPad 3 and ditching the ToyPad.

They've been around for years, go buy one, report back, tell us how useful it is.

Yeah, I think people sometimes forget that Apple didn't invent tablets (well, excluding the Newton, which was more PDA-like).

Though Windows 8 should be a massive improvement.

LOL your THinkpad also cost twice as much as an iPad so it's hardly a fair comparison.

Yeah but even if you buy a $500 iPad you still need some sort of pc to go with it. Considering even the worst laptops cost close to $400 the Thinkpad isn't such an unreasonable comparison since it is replacing 2 devices not one.

Do you really think the iPad is a complete substitute for a pc? Up until the latest version of iOS you couldn't even set one up without using a pc.

It depends what sort of user you are, if you just browse the internet and watch youtube videos then yeah it's a fine substitute...

I don't think I have ever seen a single person who exclusively uses youtube and browses the internet. Even the most basic user will need more than a tablet at some point.
