Just curious to see what the verdict is, logically it would be not-guilty since the Prosecution did a piss poor job and presented nothing really concrete. You never know though.

Otherwise, couldn't care less about Martin or Zimmerman, nothing of value was lost. One less thug on the streets is a good thing.

The prosecution did a "piss poor job of presenting evidence" because there was no evidence that Zimmerman murdered TM. It was self defense, plain and simple. The media just wants to make it out to be something it was not because they wanted a story. And a good story translates to A LOT of money for them.

The flip side is TM had every right to be there an to go back and confront GZ about why he was being followed.

Confront as in asking "hey, why are you following me?", yes. Confront as in physically assault? No.

State law would have protected TM if he had killed GZ if he was afraid for his life. Which as a minor being stalked by an armed stranger, from TZs POV, would have been reasonable.

Simply because you see someone and they ask you what you're doing (by the way, there was no "stalking" involved) does not give you the right to assault them in "self defense". Self defense doesn't mean you can attack someone simply because you are afraid. It means you can use whatever force needed to defend yourself from the attacker if you feel you are in danger. Someone asking you questions is not an "attacker".

The tragedy here for everyone else is state law basically says last man standing is innocent.

That's complete baloney. It doesn't say anything of the sort.

I guess what irks me most about this fiasco is that the entire reason this has become as overblown as it has is because of one thing - Zimmerman. And I don't mean the man, I mean the name. George Zimmerman is Hispanic. If his name was Jorge Valenzuela instead nobody outside of a few people in the Sanford-Orlando area would have ever even heard about this case. But because his name happened to be Zimmerman, and it was perceived that this was a white on black thing, the media ran with it and people began lapping it up.

The media should be drawn and quartered for pushing this like they have and those who have been drawn in by the media hype should be ashamed for drinking their Kool-Aid. Ultimately this is nothing more than race baiting at its finest, and boy has it worked.

That was one thing, but it seems like they didn't vet their own witnesses which seems rather dumb. I agree though that there was no real evidence to begin with and the police was correct in letting him go initially. It's the racists that were yelling and screaming to get him arrested because the victim was black is now the cause of this dumb trial.

I never understood why this case got so big in the first place. Must have been some sort of political shenanigans going on at the time and they needed some other story to point to and say 'look over there'.

Watch the Anderson Cooper video with Sheriff Lee from last night. "Civil Rights" leaders marched on the streets to make this big. The President commented to make it bigger. Only then was Zimmerman arrested, under political pressure.

The authorities knew what was right before a mob called for a lynching. After that Florida's Governor assigned a special prosecutor to the task, cause even the State AG wouldn't do it.

Racism, politics, and guns make this an important case.
