Anyone else not give a $*** about the Super Bowl?

Football is entertainment to bovine America. PERIOD.

I used to like it, then I got odler and my interests more diverse and thought provoking. I appreciate that there is strategy involved. People "into it" are so because it's fun. i'd presonally rather spend several hours in the library entertaining myself with Value Line, making myself wealthy in the process.

Well you obviously can't do that... so I don't know why you're talking

Actually I find fans behavior at Soccer games more entertaining that the actual game itself.

i agree with that...anyone see the video of the guy being chased across the field getting stabbed by 6 or so other people...its just a game people, geez...

meh. I've never been a big fan of football.

if I happen to be home when it's on, I'll watch it, but I'd never go out of my way to watch it.

I love watching football. I also like what most folks consider the worst seats in the house....the upper deck. From that kind of vantage point (TV does a decent job of it) you can watch a game plan develop, running lanes open and close, see the coverages, etc... There's quite a bit of strategy in a football game, you just have to know what you're looking for.

A) Great game (usually)
B) Funny azz commercials
C) Kick-ass halftime show (to the masses)
D) Lots of beer
E) Lots of friends
F) Lots of random people you've never met
G) Lots of hot chicks your friends and their friends bring
H) Did I mention lots of beer?
I) Sometimes a kick-azz after party
J)
K)
L)

^^^ please continue.

Bleh. Lots of better things to be doing.
For me, anyway. Football doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather watch a good movie, play some sort of game, screw, play chess, sit around drinking and BSing with just music on, et cetera...

I'd rather clip my toenails than watch one minute of the Stupid Bowl. I don't give a damn about it or the commercials. Soccer is the only sport these days I am halfway interested in.

What did isolation plays do to basketball that wasn't resolved when illegal defense was mostly eliminated a few years back? You are referring to where all 4 players would hang out on one side of the key and shooting guards would stand on the other side and make circus shots one on one correct?

Baseball's championship is decided in a 7 game series. Same for basketball. Same for hockey. Golf tournaments are decided over 4 days. The super bowl really is "win or go home" which basketball uses for some reason. Even though you can lose and still not be out.

For a while people liked watching the ads.

But I think it's mostly the whole it coming down to one game and I need them pats to score 40 or tony soprano is going to sell my son's kidney thing.

the reason football is only one game is its a very demanding sport and you can't play more than once a week if they did a series you would stretch the playoffs to more the regular season

I don't really care for the Super Bowl either. I don't hate football though. I just recently started to watch it so I can try to understand everything..y'know..all the terms and stuff (scrimmage, different positions..etc).

I'm a baseball fan above all though and football will never replace baseball in my heart. One month to pitchers and catchers!

I'll probably watch the Super Bowl though to continue my "football education" though I wont be rooting for any team.

its just plain old good entertainment, this question is just like asking "anyone else not give a $*** about Movie A?"

I hate football, it is bar none the dumbest, most boring worthless sport I have ever seen.

throw the ball, people get knocked down, play ends, repeat x100.... HORRIBLE. i do NOT understand why people like this pathetic sport. but that's just me.

The only sport I really can tolerate to watch is hockey (also my favorite sport to follow, but not lately obviously 🙂).. but since I am Canadian, I think that's a given.

isn't hockey the same thing as you just described football to be? except you would replace ball with puck?

pass the puck, people get knocked down, penalty, play ends, repeat x100.... HORRIBLE. i do NOT understand why people like this pathetic sport. but that's just me.

I added "penalty"

Like stated above me, hockey is the same exact thing as what you described.
