Anyone else not care about their shoes?

I didn't used to care about my shoes. But since I have been walking a lot, around 750 miles in the last year, I care a hell of a lot. Small imperfections can eat a hole in your foot.

jesus didnt wear shoes, he wore sandals

this thread is now about jesus sandals:

On my feet all day in the shop, something similar to these.

And some of these.

Dress shoes for occasions, flops or barefoot at home.

I only wear boots like these. Waterproof, super comfortable and lasts forever...unlike most sports shoes. Haven't wasted money on those in years.

Have two pair almost brand new steel toed ones that have never even broken in, the place I used to work at bought you two pairs a year just as a safety thing.

I just prefer tennis shoes myself.

One thing I can't stand is heavy footwear. I have a pair of Sorels for when the snow is deep enough to require them. When I'm hiking on rocky, uneven terrain and can't wear sandles or trail shoes, I wear a light hiking boot.

I don't know how people can wear heavy boots all day, or why in the world they'd do so if they don't need the protection for their jobs. It's like those idiots who wear knit caps in July.

I think some people can handle them better or something. Combat boots ended up wrecking me (along with physical training), but it turned out I had EDS and shouldn't be doing/wearing such things.

Mine aren't heavy at all but I also don't have noodle legs either.
I've gone everyone in such boots including hiking in the smoky mountains. Never once had to think about my feet but perhaps men that can handle the outdoors have some muscle in their legs too so that probably helps.

My boots are pretty comfortable, but I prefer to be barefoot, or wear moccasins/boat shoes of some sort. I also like minimal to non-existent insoles in my shoes. I like to feel the ground when I walk.

I used to be a pretty fit person before my knees/rest of body went haywire on me. Having a good set of legs isn't a guarantee of no harm.

I care very much about my shoes...so much so that I wouldn't be caught dead in shit-shoes like the OP posted. Converse All-Stars were cool 40-50 years ago when that was the best athletic shoe around...but nowadays? Nah...just hipster junk.

I'm not the least bit concerned about the fashion of the shoes, but rather how they fit my feet and how well they're made.

When I was working, I usually wore White's Boots or Nick's Boots.

A bit more expensive than the run-of-the mill work boots...but worth every penny.

Red Wings are the bottom line of work boots for me.

I wear Finn Comfort for "dressy" shoes...they're the most comfortable oxford-type shoes I've ever had on my feet...and either New Balance or SAS for athletic-type shoes.

i hate sneakers, i walk way to fast in them, almost like i'm going to trip over my own feet. my feet feel normal in timberland style work boots. and since timberland boots cost so much money these days, i just go to Payless and get the knockoffs. 😛

i have about 20 pairs of sneakers in my basement that i do not wear, all name brand (Nike, Adidas, Reebok, etc). i came to the realization that paying close to $200 for name brand sneakers or boots that are made for pennies in china is immoral and disgusting.

While we have all the gay and bisexual men here discussing their shoe collections...

So, only gay and bisexual men have shoe collections now? It is feminine to have collections of things you like?

Please do tell how your collection of video cards is so much more masculine and straight.

i have a ton of shoes, converse included.

if you want a converse with slightly better support get a pair of jack purcells.

No I am talking about the type of guy who obsesses over the latest sports shoe, has a bunch of pairs. I know a couple of people like this, they have (no exaggeration) 10 plus pairs

Sounds like you are low on cash flow.

Easy to have a black, brown and cordovan pair of dress shoes. Some running shoes, a dressy/casual shoe, some high tops, and a pair of boots.

He admitted to being in sandals most of the year, even in snow. He is trying too hard.

do not care, I have them because they serve a function and are mandated by society. I have a minimal amount and replace them very infrequently

Care - I have to be dressed up 90% of the time at work, so I need proper dress shoes. But I think I need to take the plunge and spend some cash on some real ones, because my current one already has a hole through the sole inside. I had to get a Dr. Scholl's insert for it. I think they're Florsheims or something like that, which I'm sure to ATOT is utter crap. I also care somewhat about my running shoes. Brooks has been the most comfortable for me for the last few years until I tried a pair of Nike's. Still not 100% convinced on Nike's but this pair has been good to me so far.

Other than that, I hate to wear shoes. I wear flip flops as much as possible. They're the most comfortable for me as my feet get really hot in any shoe.
