Asics, and decent dress shows for work.

Sandals and flip-flops should be banned for all of eternity.

I mean, I feel like they're completely appropriate if your at a beach/pool or inside your house.

you'd never catch me wearing flip-flops in public, but I'll wear them to run down to our unfinished basement when doing laundry or to walk between the house and the pool.

Flip flops are like pajamas; unacceptable outside of your property. I suppose the exception for the shoes would be in a place with lots of sand (beach or desert).

I don't see what's wrong with sandals.

Flip-flops are pretty terrible in my opinion. Maybe one exception being beach-wear although I suspect the right kind of sandal would be better as well. Only people who wear flip-flops are low-class or people who don't know any better.

I always wear sneakers with jeans. To do otherwise is Un-American.

I can't stand sneakers. I don't have time for laces!

Merrell slipons unless its cold or rainy, then its Merrell boots.

Its been rainy the past few days so I am wearing these:

I have flat feet (i.e. overpronation issues), so my shoes are unfortunately expensive like the $150+ Brooks Beast or Asics Evolution.

These type of shoes, however, last 3-4x longer than cheaper tiers due to the engineered German-like overbuiltness for heavy-set people.

No I am talking about the type of guy who obsesses over the latest sports shoe, has a bunch of pairs. I know a couple of people like this, they have (no exaggeration) 10 plus pairs

You're not describing an obsessive shoe person, there are months where I've bought 10 pairs.

Nope. I work on my feet and refuse to cheap out on my foot wear. My last pair of boots were $280, and I pass on any boots that are less than $200, don't have Gore-Tex liners, or are made by a company I have not had good luck with before.

I don't see how that effects me at all besides the fact that I should look into getting into the boot making profession.

In a repair shop, by a guy who would be challenged to replace a set of rubber heels? Maybe you should find a better picture if you're trying to prove a point.

As long as they are EE or 4E I kinda don't care anymore. I basically just wear New Balance shoes now.
