Just cancelled my wired phone service.

Current bill >$60/month (including taxes)

New bill will be $23/month and no taxes, for "naked DSL" through AT&T.

I have 4 lines of cell phone service on my family cell plan, am gonna give out the cell # I never use for my primary contact # when they demand one and just leave it turned off

I got no other high speed options except wireless, and that's >2X's as much as the naked DSL through AT&T

Nekkid DSL for many AT&T users Phone # in the article to start the swap.

i have 3 cell phones and wireless internet with a skype number that i give as my "home" phone number

can't get DSL in BFE

I have the Express, tried to upgrade a couple of years ago, they determined my lines suck & I can't upgrade. I ended up with credit for a year of service, they finally looked back in their records to prove I had crappy service for a year.

Flipping AT&T, I was on hold for >1 hour to get my service changed.

They'll likely just turn my service off & try to run a new wired line into my cat's ass if it's like all the other times I've had them modify my service.

"What you don't get a steady light when you reboot your cat? I'm going to escalate your trouble ticket, and our DSL provisioning dept in Bangalore will call you back next month on Weds at 3:45 am, will you be at home?"

I'm interested in it, but not sure how to sign up/find it in my area, I'm on cable now at $40 a month.

Text I started with the number in that article, got shuffled around for 1/2 hour till I got to the right dept...

Interesting that they were forced to offer it....

I just recently heard about this. I'd love to go to Naked DSL but we still need the phone for fax and alarm. I'm not sure if the alarm system would work with a voip provider.

yeah, I believe there are some work arounds for faxes. Dunno about alarms though.

I switched to DSL earlier this year. I suppose technically I do have a land line now. I can receive all the calls I want, but making any calls costs me ten cents a minute :p
It came with the DSL, no charge.

I have DSL and no landline. Verizon charges me like $5/mo extra I think for not having a landline, which is pretty gay.

But I don't need a land line at all.

cable. my sister does not have a land line, has cable and cell phones

actually at her house which was totall renovated in 2005 when they got it i dont think ive even seen a phone jack, i dont thenk they are even there lol

we don't have aland line. havent had one for like 5 years. i see no reason to pay $60 for a line i won't use.

we have cell cervice and "wireless" DSL>

I remember reading that too, but I think the article I saw didn't have the phone number listed.


Per that article its 3/1.5 for $29. Cable here is 10/1 for $45. Not sure that it's worth switching

I donut think I've had POTS since last millennium.

My only complaint is getting $crewed on mobile voicemail (CID too, but one is likewise buggered for that with land lines too).
