<< Taliban has never wanted peace to begin with. Military actions are unavoidable. >>

So basically, war is what the Taliban wants and the US is going to give it to them. Since when does the great USA have its actions dictated to it, especially by a bunch of terrorists with little or no regard for life?
>>

Ummm, when they start killing us by the thousands???

Did Japan dictate our actions? You betchya, but only once. They dictated that we neutralize their threat to us. Same with Germany.

Like Bush siad, the start of the war was dictated by them, but WE will dictate the end of the war.

Just a thought...

<< violence + violence = MORE VIOLENCE >>

Tell me, should we have followed that flawed equation in WWII? During the civil war? Should the Muslems have followed it during the Crusades?

If a serial killer was trying to kill you, and you had the abilty to kill him first, would you instead choose to lay down and die?

Look at that, with three questions I've totally destroyed your nonsensical statement

Since 9/11/2001 when more than 5000 US and International civilians were killed for some fanatic reason.

At the start I was all for a peaceful way out of this situation but no longer, we have given them every chance to hand over the terrorists but they refused, the talking is now done, now it's time for them to die.

Any country who doesn't hand over terrorists deserves to be added as a valid target!

At this point, I don't think trying to process these terrorists through our justice system or mere words are going to help the world dealing w/terrorists in general. It doesn't matter if this Bin Laden jerk is really behind it all or has taken a small part in it but after all those numerous attacks on US citizens that he was suspected of involvement, he truely deserve a first class ticket to hell. Taliban helped/habor Bin Laden/his terrorist cells and they are the ruling party of that nation, so they are definitely resposible to some large degree, which makes Afganistan the enemy as well. In war, there is no innocent civilians, just more bodies that can be thrown into the war machine to increase weapon carrying individuals that can throw bullets (among other things) into the direction that their government points to. Asylum seeking refugees could also be the perfect cover for more possible terrorists to escape/relocate another target in their mist.
We have a target, a pauseable excuse and we need to throw everything at them so any future terrorists/sponsors will have second thoughts of the outcome for their actions. Up til now, the world haven't done much to curb terrorists in any ways what so ever and somewhere along the way, they grew some hairs on they b@lls and their sponsor list grew as well. We need to make an example out of them and turn Afaganistan into a glass slate.

Besides- war will help our economy recover faster than anything else. U.S. have been the healthy fat cow everyone else have been sucking but cursed at from those that are leeching at the very same time. No more financial/medical/food aids, just let them rot and let nature take their miserable existance from the rest of the world.

<< , I can see a small group of mercanaries going in well armed, doing whatever they need to do to find him (not hard if you are willing to break the law) >>

Sounds like sucide to me. You have been watching to many Rambo movies. Without prcise knowledge as to his exact location such a group would be helpless. The only way to find his will be to inflitrate the organization. So far we have been completly unsucessfull at inflitrating these idealistic fanatical Islamic terrorist groups. Cacucasians simply cannot do it. It is time for some Arabic/American Muslims to take the bull by horns and deal with these groups in a manner Euorpean Americans simply cannot. We need intellegence and we need it bad. Unfortunately this can not happen quickly. We are fighting blind while all the terrorist need to do is turn on the TV and they are kept in touch with every move the US president or the Military makes. I hope that our news media will catch on and stop broadcasting such information.

We need to strike carefully, hitting the correct target is more important than hitting fast.

RossGr,

I don't think you need to infiltrate these groups. It would take a little co-operation from the FBI, but we have a number of suspects arrested. The FBI just has to be told to release one of them, who happens to be kidnapped as soon as they get outside. Truth drugs are available (granted, again the Government will have to look away for the aquisition of such a substance) and then either the next contact in the chain can be found, or perhaps a region of Afganistain. Then off they go with their bottle of truth drugs and follow the chain. Yes fundamental human rights will be violated, the world would be appauled if they knew, so no government could be seen supporting such an action. But my point is it is doable. I know one guy who put 5 knife weilding attackers in hospital. They came up behind him and caught him offguard and he did this with his bear hands. Well trained individuals can be a deadly force .
