I have to somewhat agree with your statement about DBZ. Watching the subtitled ones makes you feel like you are back in the late 80's whereas the dubbed isn't all that bad if you want updated music and dubbing all enahnced on a digital track. You can definitially hear a difference in the quality of the sound, but the actual sound of course is nowhere near as good as the orginal. And this holds true across the spectrum most of the time. At least most of the new year 2002+ dubbed anime usually keeps a majority if not all of the OST's from the japanese ver. so there's not much complaining to do there.

To answer the question, I love anime! So much so I purchased a Sony Glasstron PLM-A35 yesterday just to use it for one of these purposes. As well as to control my kick ass off road rc car with a wireless camera (Team Associated RC10B2) :D.

I also have to say this, but the people who say they hate it and the people who responded to refute their claims have to understand that even though your arguments gold up (about having them find the right one) holds up to some extent, the main reason people don't like anime is that they didn't watch or still don't watch many cartoons and thus it isn't as appealing to them as maybe it once was. Plus what defines anime are those big eyes, little mouths, adult situations, and the like. They are like shows that contain everything needed to be a live action series/movie, but of course, in an animated state. It's somewhat ironic though since cartoons are normally associated with people no older than late teens at the most for habitual viewing, whereas the themes portrayed in anime obviously tend to be geared towards a 18+ audience. So either everyone jumps on the cartoon bandwagon and accepts anime or it will die a somewhat gruesome and horrible death. I tend to hope that the latter doesn't happen. It's here to stay folks! Enjoy it!
