Anyone else here not like air conditioning?

I can't stand not having air conditioning in the summer. I love the nice weather, but when I come inside I want it to be nice and cool.

It's damm near impossible to sleep here in FL when you don't have AC, during the year of the 'canes we lost power twice for 10 days total, I gave up after day three and got a hotel room..

When it gets to around 30C I love AC. In the car though, I'd rather just drive with the windows down.

At home, I love it. In my car, it could be 100 degrees out, and I'll leave the AC off. Not because I don't like the cold, but in my lowly 4 cylinder car, it just takes a bit too much of the oomph from the engine.

I have this mentality (which I know is false) that only fat people use AC.

It's an extreme statement, but I just like heat. Ofcourse, if it's 90+, I won't object to it. It's just kinda weird to see people use A/C in cars when its anywhere from 65-79.

I actually don't care about the temperature. If it's below 100F it's not too bad if you are drinking water.

What really slays is the humidity. I wish it was possible to set the air to come on when it's above 75F-80F for like 10minutes per hour irregardless of the temperature. Or even better, options to set it by humidity. Wow, think of the energy savings if you could set the thermostat by humidity instead of temperature.

I agree that post-conditioned air isn't as pleasant as natural, but since any temperatures over 80 put me into a homicidal rage it's a trade-off I'm all too happy to make. I've moved from AC to central air, and find it's better overall, though it doesn't provide the same instant cool. However, it works great to keep the house at a nice steady mid to high 60's so I never need that instant cool.

Im good to about 80 indoors. Above that is uncomfortable.

It's especially bad when im trying to sleep.

If I am awake and not doing a lot of physical activity, I don't mind having my AC off if it's below 85. I agree with you in that it does make you feel alive. However, my state is mostly a reclaimed swamp and it gets ridiculously humid on a frequent basis, which really makes things bad. Also, I need the AC on to keep the room temperature below 80 if I want to sleep comfortably.

I have it but really we only use it for a few weeks out of the summer. We live by the coast in SoCal where it rarely gets over 95. Typically, it is breezy here with temps in the 80s during the summer. When the Santa Ana winds blow and it gets up in the mid to high 90s it is really nice to have and with global warming it's only going to get worse. A/C might be a necessity here.

BTW-If your A/C smells and bothers your sinuses I suggest having your ducts cleaned and replacing your filter.

Dude, how old is your A/C unit? Maybe you should think of getting a more efficient unit if it's more than 15 years old.
