This is probably Android specific, and it might very well be my phone so I thought I would see if other people are having this issue.
Not long ago (probably last week) my Note 2 (4.4.2) updated with a new version of Google Play Music. Everything still worked as expected except when the screen turned off and locked. At this point the music starts stuttering so bad it is impossible to listen to. If I turn the screen back on everything works great until the screen locks again.
So, I was thinking that maybe I had screwed something up and I went ahead and reflashed my ROM image. Like magic, Play Music was working as I expected it to. However, this morning I noticed that the app updated again (I am assuming my ROM image had an older version) and now I have the exact same stuttering audio issue.
Has anyone else seen this issue when listening after the screen locks? The problem exists for downloaded and online streamed music so it doesn't appear to be SD card related, although I don't know exactly how online music is buffered.
