You know, Dems love to throw the fear/scare tactic at Rebuplicans.

But all you ever hear from Obama and Dem supporters are that McCain is Bush II. They are trying to also fear their way into the white house.
That's true to an extent, but they don't foam at the mouth with anger, accuse McCain of being a terrorist, shout to 'get him/kill him', or chant against in him in anger en masse at rallies.

At present, there is a HUGE gap between the calm focus of Obama rallies, with the rabid craziness that occurs at McCain rallies right now. To McCain's credit, he doesn't really incite it, it's already there waiting.
No they just call Bush and Chenney traitorous lying murdering war criminals.

It isn't hard to find extreme anti-Bush hatred right here in this forum.

Not quite the same kind of anger being spouted by some McCain supporters.

To be fair, there's a similar 25% on the left that is the exact same way. Though in the current situation, I'd say the 25-percenters on the right, after years of watching the Republicans self-destruct, and now watching their candidate have slim chances to make it, are starting to get a bit wacky. Foam-at-the-mouth spastic anger definitely scares away the independents and moderates. I saw a video of a rally, the one where McCain called people 'My fellow prisoners', and the crowd started chanting NOBAMA! NOBAMA! It was frankly weird. It wasn't a positive reaction towards him, just a negative reaction towards the opposition candidate. It would be like the entire crowd at an Obama rally chanting 'McSame!' 'McSame!'. But you don't really see that.

This is IMO a correct analysis of the situation. And I hate to say it, but I'm not surprised. Stock up on the ammo, my friend.

Not that I expect you to understand the nuance, PJ, when it happens to conflict with your personal ideology, but there is a difference in calling for legal justice, and in calling for vigilante reactionary violence. Between calling for Bush's impeachment for his perceived crimes, and in calling for a rope on the basis of mindless propaganda and irrational hatred.

i would be honestly shocked if no one ever chanted mcsame at an obama rally.

i was part of an 'old gimp' rally in 1996.

on second thought they may be too busy chanting 'yes we can'
