What about the people that put the MT boxes up on ebay and get full retail price? You know those listings...

Playstation 3 Retail BOX ONLY!

You are bidding on the BOX only a PS3 came in.
This auction is for an empty box. No PS3 is included!

Yet the bids are deep into retail price territory.

A week later the guy has a negative from the buyer saying he/she was scammed. :D

When I lived at my parents' house I used to keep the box for a bit then throw it out. Now that I have my own house and tons of storage space in my crawlspace, I will probably keep boxes longer if I think I can use them for something later on.

depends. for example, i still have the box for my computer case, and mouse/keyboard set as if i need to pack my computer, it's perfect for it. other boxes we flatten but if we don't need it, we recycle it.

Funny he made this thread, because today was one of those days I was cleaning up the storage stuff that needs to go or into somewhere else.
Can you beat my bunch of crap? Just lined them all up for a picture :p

Hoarder Alert!!!

An intervention by your family is next on the agenda to cure you of your OCD hoarding of boxes.

I used keep tons of STUFF until I moved in '05. Then I learned it's better to be well situated for a fast getaway.

Hmmmm, looks like you got the regular and special versions of Final Fantasy 7. Did the special version work better under later operating systems?

I keep all my SLR body/lens boxes, since they're expensive and the thing I'm most likely to resell.

I also keep the box for my LCD monitor. I found the original box is the best way to ship the monitor in case it needs to get repaired. Then again, monitors are getting so cheap these days that I'd be more likely to buy a new monitor than repair an old one.

Everything else I'll keep the box for 3-6 months and then recycle it.

Nope, same CDs just reprints IIRC. The fanbase made some Jenova ultimate version or something along those lines that's supposed to be compatible with XP/2000.

Sometimes I keep the box if I really like it. I should get a group picture...
